Do you have any creative ideas for dealing with ugly carpeting at a venue that will clash with your colors ?

Trust me no one will notice. Other than changing your colors or paying for the venue to change the carpet there is nothing you can do.

Start praying no one notices it!!!! Seriously try some uplighting if you haven't thought about it. Will draw the eyes up.

Keep the focus up ... tablescapes, ceiling drapery, etc. As always, if you don't want people to notice it, draw attention away from it.

Unless the carpet smells or is a tripping hazard, it won't get noticed, especially if the venue is dimly lit. And if this is the case, find another venue.

No one will notice or care. When you look at wedding photos, you never see a photographer focus on the carpet.

Carpeting at the venue is the last thing you need to worry about. No one will notice the carpet.

Uggghhh, I hate all carpet so this would definitely drive me crazy too. Like, why would you put carpet in a room where people are going to be eating and getting tipsy? It just seems like a hard surface would make more sense from a clean-up standpoint. I agree with PPs. Keep it dim and definitely go for uplighting.

I HIGHLY doubt anyone will leave your wedding and think "oh wow! That carpet was terrible!"

I'm sure no one will notice. I personally hate the carpets that are in most wedding/banquet spaces but I never remember leaving a wedding thinking about the carpeting. Once the lights are dimmed and the focus is on your beautiful decorations, that will be the last thing people will notice. Find some good uplifting, floral arrangements and try pin spotting as a way to get a focus off of the floor!

@bitbit, the reason for carpeting in venues is for safety. A lot less slip and falls on carpet than a smooth surface.

@FutureMrsP, no one will notice the carpet. Trust me. I have been to many events at our convention center. It has LOUD carpeting. I honestly can say that I never see it, when I enter a room set up for an event.

I picked a white tent outside of my venue to escape the carpeting. It was way easier to decorate

I literally can't remember what the carpet looked like at a single wedding I've been to. I don't even remember what the carpet looks like at any venues I looked at, either.

Dim lights, uplighting, centerpieces, decor. I don't think with everything going on anyone will notice.

Lights. In the centerpeices and uplighting. If you have a dj, even better because they'll provide dance lights. And let your photographer know you don't like the floors so they'll make sure not to get much of it. Don't worry, guests won't notice it as much as you think.

I would never notice. Unless is was gross/stained or had a body outline.

This is the main reason I hate country clubs! The ugly carpet drives me up a wall!!! My FILs live in a country club community and it has the ugliest plaid carpet...

I highly doubt anyone will notice honestly. PPs have had some great advice though!
