Ugly wall at venue

Emily, on March 23, 2021 at 10:54 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
The venue I believe we are going to go with has this one brick wall that has this squiggly shaped dry wall over it. You can still see bricks where the dry wall is not but where the dry way is, its painted, get this, lime green... Green is one our wedding colors so thats good however our green is a dark green and the lime green over the bricks and the color in general, I feel, ruin the vibe. So any thoughts on how to cover or make it look nice. My only thought was to buy command strips (yes a lot) put those up and put flowers over them. The wall is also very long so no flower wall would work to just prop over it. Thanks!

    What about pipe and drape?

Keep in mind that if you try to hide something, you actually end up drawing attention to it instead. Leave it as is or drape the entire wall with clear Christmas lights behind tulle

There is also a projection screen in the middle of the wall so I don't want to cover that and I also don't had the brick as the other walls are also brick. I think the pipe and drape would be too long. Good idea though, I'll look into some more and see if anything pops up.

Perfect opportunity to get creative! Twinkle lights with some tule, maybe some vines... how is the rest of the room going to look?

A cheap an easy option would be to do pipe and drape over that wall section and then get an extra piece of chiffon and do some slight draping at the top of the pipe and drape to make it look more decorative and finished

Look into a hedge/greenery wall! You can find them on Etsy for pretty reasonable and it adds a rustic/modern touch. You could even add a sign with your last name, or even a sweet saying, and maybe a chair or couch and turn it into a makeshift Photo Booth!

I'd recommend asking the venue what other people have done to hide the wall during an event. They may have some suggestions that would work.

Yes! Then ask them why they have such a bright, non-neutral color in an event space lol.
