Umm...Did anybody else gain weight after the wedding?

LadyHopkins, on August 8, 2012 at 4:49 PM Posted in Married Life 0 11

I feel so ashamed, lol. A few days before my wedding I weighed in at 127 lbs. and had been that weight for quite some time. Sooooo, now I weigh 141 freakin' pounds! I have only been married three months!!!

Aww haha, where did you go on your honeymoon? Probably because you are not worried about the wedding! I will most likely do the same!!

Yeah, I got married May 22nd, and by June 20th I had gained 7 pounds. I made a pact with my husband that I wouldn't watch what I ate AT ALL for the first month after the wedding, since I'm normally VERY conscious of everything I put in my mouth. So, we finished off our wedding cake, ate out for pretty much EVERY meal, and drank a LOT of champagne. I was MISERABLE, lol. I told him I didn't think I could hold out anymore. I would get winded just from walking to the grocery store! As soon as June 22nd hit, I was back on plan, and I lost it all in a couple of weeks. :-)

We went on a mini moon to Shreveport/Bossier, La. Stayed at a motel with a huge free breakfast, and, hello, casino restaurants are the best. Not to mention my sudden obsession with cheesecake, lol. Guess I need to slow down.

I've decided to gain mine before...that way I'm ahead of the game so it's not a surprise after the wedding, lol. Smiley smile

Lol HoundMama. Yep, it happened to me too Lady -- probably 15lbs from March-June although I didn't step on a scale during that time. I started a diet plan mid June and have lost 20, so now I'm working on the other 20lbs of "relationship weight" from when we first met. UGH.

I've heard it called the "Newlywed Nine" which I would think was funny if it wasn't so true Smiley sad

I've gained about 8 lbs since the wedding. However I'm not sure exactly where I gained it because my clothes all fit the same. It is really annoying every time I step on the scale though.

I have gained about five pounds. It was probably more but I wouldn't step on the scale for two weeks after we got back from our honeymoon. I knew it would make me cry Smiley smile

I would bet a lot of people do, especially because so many are dieting and working out so much to look good for the wedding and after it's over they're like "Phew, I can cancel that gym membership now!" Lol. Or you just get off track on the honeymoon and it's so hard to get that motivation back.
