Ok, so My uncle raised me from 13yrs. old until I moved out with my FH is walking me down the aisle & I'm dancing with him in leiu of my father. My father is alive but will not be attending our wedding. So, here's the actual question I need a song, I was thinking "Fix You" by Coldplay, but any suggestions are great.. or do you think "Fix you" is appropriate?

    First, my condolences on the loss of your father. While I'm older than you, I'm in the same boat as you and have the deepest empathy for you. I wish there was a way to make it easier, but know your dad is with you in spirit - although I know it absolutely sucks that he won't be there in person.

    My grandpa passed and my uncle is stepping in and he is on 18 yrs older but i have really been close with him in 3 years and it feels weird for super sweet personal songs ya know? So what did you end up picking?

    Here for all these stories and love all these amazing uncles out there! My uncle is dancing with me as well and it’s been hard but a GREAT SONG to use is My Girl!! By The Temptations! No father references, not creepy, or lovey. It’s so upbeat and classic and perfect for an uncle/niece dance! Good luck ladies and congratulations! Smiley smile
