Uncle/Niece dance (In Place of Father/Daughter Dance)

Ashley, on August 9, 2011 at 11:30 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 3

My father isn't in the picture, and sadly my grandpa has passed away. I had originally planned a mother/daughter dance but decided against it, so I'm going to dance with my uncle...don't really know what song would be good...was thinking Celine Dion Because You Loved Me, but would like a newer song...any ideas??

Ashley W. I'm in the same boat. My father passed away many years ago, and my grandfather a couple of years ago. My FH will be doing a dance with his mom and I wish I had someone to dance with. I wonder if one of my uncles would... that's a good idea. I know I've seen a lot of these generation dances done to "what a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong... not sure if that's your cup of tea, but I was at a wedding this past weekend and they used that song. It was very sweet.

Stacy K. yeah ask your uncle. From what my mother said, it's supposed to be your Father's first brother or in my case, my grandfather's first son. I'm excited for it...What a Wonderful World is a really pretty song...thank you for the suggestion Smiley smile

What a wonderful world is a great choice. I'm doing an uncle/neice dance because my dad passed away. My uncle is also going to be walking me down the aisle. My uncle is my mom's bil-her bis sister's husband (sadly, my mom and some of dad's family aren't on very friendly terms with my dad's side...at least SOME of daddy's side).
