Uneven wedding party

No , on February 20, 2018 at 3:42 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 29

I'm totally ok with having an uneven wedding party, is that normal to have that though? It was originally 5 and 7, but now it's 4 and 7 as my MOH is due on my wedding so she stepped out. I think I just need some peace of mind that it's ok...does anyone else have an uneven number?

We have uneven numbers, 3-4, so not quite as imbalanced as your BP, but there is no problem with that at all. I think it's more normal to have mismatched Bridal Parties as people really focus on it being close friends, rather than finding x number of guys for one side and girls for the other.

    It's fine!

There are plenty of ways to have your BP walk down the aisle, either together, alone, or in a group of 3 if needed.

Picture wise, it doesn't really mess things up either.

It's totally normal! My wedding party is also uneven. Uneven is actually more common than even lately. All you'll care about on your special day is that those that are important to you are there with you, the numbers won't matter

So true. I have no intention of picking people just to make things even. I just worry it's too uneven. You're right, on that day I won't care about anything but who's there and most important to me, thanks!

Totally ok to have an uneven number. We got lucky and didn't end up with this issue, but early on we really thought he would have more people than I did, and we figured what was important was that we share the day with the people who matter most however many that may be. This is your wedding and you should be able to do whatever you want. It doesn't have to be how people think it's 'supposed' to be.

Mine is not uneven but I do have my MOH who is lesbian and will be wearing the GM's attire. Not worried about it at all.

About half of weddings have uneven sides of their wedding party!

I had 7 bridesmaids and my husband had 8 groomsmen and 2 ushers Smiley laugh

Not weird. We are uneven and also will have my FH’s sisters as “grooms-maids” on his side rather than as bridesmaids.

Totally ok! We had 5 BMs and 6 GMs. At my cousin's wedding, I was one of 13 or 14 BMs, and her H "only" had 8, I think. Their wedding was in 2001 so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but there was a huge disparity in their 2 sides, that I do remember.

Ours are even but my FH would have had more if any of my girls said no... he would have 15 on his side if I said yes.

Very normal! We originally were going to have 3 BMs and 2 GMs but we found out a month before the wedding that my brother wasn't able to make it, so we only had 1 GM. (1st pic taken from video footage)

I have the exact same numbers as you, I originally had 5 now I'm down to 4 too. I'm actually excited because maybe this will finally get my FH to the dark side of having a sweetheart table (fingers crossed).

We also have an uneven wedding party. We have 7 girls and either 4 or 6 groomsmen.. we r just going to make it work! I think it's totally fine as long as you're okay with it.

We have 6 and 7. It is artificial to make them even unless you truly have the same number of people you want to ask. We were originally going to both ask 7 but one of his friends showed his true colors before he asked him.

We’re doing an uneven wedding party also—4 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen! I’d rather have an uneven wedding party than pay for the extra expenses of asking an additional groomsmen just for the sake of being even.

You could have each side have GM & BM to even it out a bit. I think we’re doing that 😊 I think it looks better than women on one side and men on the other.

I have an uneven number! Unless someone bows out, or he gets another groomsmen. You could just have one of the guys walk two girls.
