Unexpectedly Small Wedding - How many declines did you get?

So my wedding is in 23 days. YAY! But I'm getting really sorta bummed at the number of declines. I had 140 on my guest list. I knew that about 40 of those people honestly didn't have the means to make it to the wedding. So I prepared myself for quite a few declines. But so far only 50 people have...

I still have 72 guests uncounted for but being my wedding is out of state most of our guest should know by now if they are coming.

So out of curiosity how many people did y'all invite and how many of those attended.

Everyone has to travel for mine as well. I'm getting married in NC and people are coming as far as Hawaii. We invited 190 and have about 107 coming. We knew a lot of FH family in Arkansas weren't able to make it.

I don't get the asking to be invited and RSVP-ing no. I read somewhere that there is typically a 20% decline rate. Seems like that's not true. Now I'm starting to worry about having a ton of extra food at the end of the night.

We invited 285 and had 140. We had the budget so we invited every single person that we were both related to knowing that most of my family would not come. Also, we offered everyone a guest and many did not bring a guest. I was really happy with the turnout. I was stressed about inviting 300 people (our original list) and knowing only 100 of them but my husband insisted on inviting 200 people and I caved. 140 was a great amount for us.

Well we're having a DW so it's not exactly the same but 260 and 49 are coming.

And for my local shower, 60 invited and 35 said yes

Less than a month out, and out of upwards of 160 invited, we have just over 60 RSVPs for people coming. Based on what I've been hearing from friends and family, I'm estimating our final headcount to be around 80-90.

Both my FH and I wanted a short engagement, and little did I know at the time, but the date we set was actually the same weekend as his family reunion... So we are expecting a small turnout. It's fine by us - this is a very important day for us, and we are perfectly fine sharing it with just our close family and friends.

We are A-okay with our 'unexpectedly small' wedding and are rolling with it!

We had a 50% decline rate as well. Out of town, destination for many people. I'm actually really excited for our smaller (ish) wedding and being able to add some extra goodies for those that can come!

You still have time to get those unaccounted for and if you can i would start trying to get in touch with those 72 who havent rsvp'd yet, especially if youre paying per person Smiley smile

We invited 116 and had 47 rsvp yes and 3 no shows. And as 96% we're coming from out of town we were thrilled with who was able to make it.

I'm having a destination wedding and in the beginning it was originally only supposed to be family. We wanted just our parents and siblings there and maybe a bigger wedding at home. a few friends talked me into letting them come and they have all backed out recently. We are down to 28. They all started backing out at the last month 1/2. My resort asked for my final head count 1 months before

This makes me excited - we are inviting 255 but it is OOT for 80% of the guest list and on a holiday so we are hoping for some no's -- to be clear we budgeted for this many but a lot are FMIL list (90 people -___-) when my family is 46 and all OOT. Hoping for about 180 but we shall see!

Enjoy your wedding with the guests who are going to be there and celebrating with you and your FS!

We had 210 on the guest list and just under 150 that attended. 90% of guests were traveling at least a few hours, many cross country. Plus we got married on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. So yeah, it's a bummer, but we expected it. Sorry you're bummed, OP. As you'll see here, many guests fail to RSVP on time, or at all, so I wouldn't worry about it until you've gotten a firm "no," from people.

Having a destination wedding as well. We invited 90 and will have about 45 total. It was only annoying because so many waited until well after the RSVP date to tell us no. I still feel like we may have a handful of no-shows as a few ppl haven't booked hotel rooms or flights yet. At this point, I'm not worrying about it too much. Whoever is supposed to celebrate with us will be there and that's good enough for me!

I think a smaller wedding you can be more intimate with conversations with people!
