Unexpectedly Small Wedding - How many declines did you get?

So my wedding is in 23 days. YAY! But I'm getting really sorta bummed at the number of declines. I had 140 on my guest list. I knew that about 40 of those people honestly didn't have the means to make it to the wedding. So I prepared myself for quite a few declines. But so far only 50 people have...

I still have 72 guests uncounted for but being my wedding is out of state most of our guest should know by now if they are coming.

So out of curiosity how many people did y'all invite and how many of those attended.

We invited 150 and I think we'll have 102. We have family and friends all over the US so I knew majority of them wouldn't be able to make the weekend. It's also a holiday weekend too. I'm actually excited to have 102, so much more manageable and we were able to upgrade (like brunch the next day!) and also ended up saving about $8k.

Can't wait to get my invites out so I can start to see my rsvp turnouts. We invited close to 300 (totally not my choice). We are having a DW so I'm hoping a lot of people don't come. My FH doesn't understand the concept that if he hasn't spoken to them in x years, they shouldn't be invited. Anyway. Hoping for a lot of Nos! So I can spend the extra money on fun stuff for the people who do come.

We are going to invite 140. I'm expecting 100 (hopefully) to attend! I really hope ours isn't a 50% decline rate.. I'll be super bummed. We send our invites out next month.. in super anxious to see how it plays out.

We invited 266 people, 177 people said they would come. I guess we will see this weekend how accurate that is!

We invited about 220 and had 155 accept. We had about 147 show up the day of for various reasons. It was a perfect number for us.

We invited around 225 and so far have 125 coming. I've been disappointed by the number of declines. I've actually been quite bummed about it this week. I shouldn't be because the majority of guests are OOT and let's be real, who wants to come to Utah? But so many people said a year ago that they would come and then ended up RSVPing no. Our food minimum is 150 so we might have a lot of leftovers! We're also offering plus ones to everyone, if they didn't get one before, and multiple guests to our poly friends.

Wow I'm surprised at the big decline rate.. I haven't sent invites yet but I'm curious to see how things turn out. we're pretty much only inviting family and really close friends so we expect most of our guest last to be in attendance.

I work with a wedding planner and we advice people that a 30% decline rate is typical.

I am personally a little overwhelmed with the lack of declines and a little jealous of those of you who have more than I do! We only invited over our max number by a few, but I was hoping to end up below our max number and it looks like we will be right at it :/

Honestly I am kind of hoping for a smaller wedding lol. Due to last minute "oh yea what about this person" additions we are now uo to just about 300 guests (kids, and plus ones added) and that's not including some of my family! I know I'm supposed to count on a certain % not showing but I'm still worried we will have a ton of people lol.

We invited around 120 people, but our final guest count was only 80 people exactly. We were happier with that count, though, since we originally had to add more people than we wanted to.

I have almost 250 on the guest list and even though >50% are OOT I really think 80%+ will come. But reading these responses has me excited for all the extras we could do for those who do make it if we end up with a bunch of declines, so I am so glad I read through this thread! Feeling super excited now for no matter how many people end up coming!

I had an average decline rate (if I did the math right) of 21%. Thursday night wedding, holiday weekend.

    190 invited, 150 RSVP'd, 7 no-shows

We invited 205. 105 RSVPed yes, we had 4 no-shows, so 101 total.

Our wedding was a destination for us and about half of our guests. Saturday evening 5:00 pm ceremony and reception immediately following.

32 guests- 29 RSVP-ed yes- (and that included a plus one that wasn't invited)

I had 4 late people (from my understanding)- 3 of whom were like 15-20 minutes late- one of which was EXTREMELY late (like- tail end of reception late)- I mostly felt bad for her- I didn't care that she was late- I knew it was inconvenient for them to come up- but I'm glad she got food.

We're inviting 28 people, and 27 of those are really really dear to us (plus one aunt FH feels obligated to include) so I'm hoping that even though most of those are oot they can still make it.

113 were invited and 106 showed up. I was extremely surprised as the majority were OOT and it was on a Thursday.

I'm secretly hoping we get a good amount of declines. Our list is at 125(we still have quite some time so it could change) I'm hoping about 80 show. We originally wanted a small wedding of less than 100 people. Of course we have the budget to host them all properly if they all come but FH has a huge family and insists that we invite them all even the ones who don't regularly communicate with us. 80 people would be all of our locals plus a couple OOT guests who have already verbally confirmed (grandparents and aunts and uncles)

Our wedding is also the day before easter and we live in Florida so it really could go either way with the people who will have the extra time off.
