UNFREAKINBELIEABLE! Salon ordered the wrong dress and size!

KandMsayIDO, on July 1, 2017 at 8:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 44

I went in today to pay the remaining balance and pick up my dress today. It was delayed from the manufacturer for weeks. My sisters and niece meet me there and we're all excited if course. They bring in the dress and I start to try it on. One sister says it doesn't look like my dress but I assure her that it is. I TRY to slip into the dress and it DOES not fit! Like its someone else's dress. Needless to say that I had a fit... both my sisters did as well. The owner argued with me saying that I gained weight in my breasts and waist but NOT in my hips. (Is that even possible?!?). It just so happens that the consultant who helped me was fired for some unknown reason. So today I ended up having to find a new dress and getting it altered. The owner refused to admit fault, yet she did allow me to exchange my dress for the new one at no additional cost. I was so hurt that I cried outside of the bridal shop before I calmed down enough to find another dress. There were two possible cont

Scenarios. 1) they incorrectly measured me. Or 2) the manufacturer mixed up my dress with the other bride's dress with whom they had asked me to switch a few months ago, but I refused.

I am happy with my new dress and everyone said it looked really nice on me. I was so flustered that I didn't take pictures today. I will this coming weekend after my next fitting with the seamstress.

Might I add that I tried on the sample again and I was able to wear it... but it was even more loose than it was in December. I know the samples stretch, but this almost looked like a garbage bag on me now.. SMH. My head hurts..

I remember your previous post about the other bride they wanted to give your gown to. Crazy! What a shitty salon! I hope everything works out.

Bad review, fact based, and AFTER your dress is finished and safely with you.

Wow what a mess! I'm so happy it worked out and they found a dress they can get to you in time. I'm sure you will look stunning and can look back at this and laugh one day. Not now, but one day Smiley smile

Thanks all! As soon as my dress is in my hand I will be writing a review of my experience with them. This was awful especially 21 days before my wedding

Hey issue twin! My salon is currently screwing me over with my dress (ordered the wrong size by a lot and tried to convince me to alter it down)

@alecia v. Yes! They called a few months ago asking if I would allow another bride to take my dress and I would take hers because my wedding was after hers but she didn't order in enough time. I refused to do that. I feel like they did it anyway

Wow @jess!! So now they want you to pay for alterations to fix their screw up! SMH! They know the position that we're in and they try to capitalize off of it.

You shouldn't have to even imagine what could have gone wrong, (i.e., did they give your gown to another bride, etc.) because NOTHING should have gone wrong.

I am so sorry. I can only guess how stressful this was for you (because when I was a bride, it didn't happen to me), especially since your wedding is only three weeks away.

You will, in all probability, look fabulous in your wedding gown, but that doesn't negate what happened to you. Wait until after your wedding, calm down, and then methodically write out a review, with as little emotion as possible, explaining to other brides what could happen to them. Your one review could have a huge impact, and quite frankly, whatever salon this is, they deserve it. There are lots of things you shouldn't be worried about at this late date -- and one of the most obvious is your wedding gown.

Wow, what a bridal nightmare! I'm pretty sure that I would have taken that business apart on brick at a time and I would have started the manager.

Waiting until after the wedding is definitely a good idea as the I'm sure most of the emotion that I feel right now will have subsided.

I appreciate all the concern and advice. I hope noone else has to endure this type of stress...especially this close to their wedding day
