Unhappy with VistaPrint order :o( ... what to doooo?!

Kimi K, on January 19, 2012 at 2:34 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

I was super excited to see my vistaprint package sitting on my doorstep when I arrived home yesterday. We ordered a bunch of stuff (free) but most importantly we got our menus! Exciting right? NO!

My initial reaction was 'seriously??? This is it?!'. I paid $27.00 for what I thought would be the perfect touch and boy was I incorrect. I attempted to upload a picture but you can't really tell online ... the font looks out of focus. Really ... fuzzy... We do have some older family members that will obviously have a difficult time reading it.

What should I do? I'm bummed they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped... not happy at all. Now I'm a second away from trashing them and buying new ones (FH would kill me if I spent more money on something as stupid as menus)

No no no, contact them, let them know the issue. It could've been a bad layout and maybe they will re-run them for you. Do that first before you throw them. The worst they can do is say no.

I work in printing, and although I don't know exactly what happens down there, I do know sometimes the machines will get off balance just a tish and it ruins the entire run.

I'm going to attempt to see if I can just return them, they're ridculous looking for what I paid. I'm kinda pissed actually. Good call on calling them Jamie.

@Alina, Printing them off would be a huge PITA for us. We don't own a printer & we figured this was one less thing we would have to do ourselves.

That sucks..I'd also try to make sure they can see your pdf file as well, if you paid extra you get the proof before ordering..if they dont' match up, then they should certainly send you new ones.

You need to contact VistaPrint and let them know that you're unhappy with how they turned out. I've never actually had to call them...but I know in the past when I've ordered print stuff online and was unsatisfied, I called them up and they fixed the issue immediately and sent them back. DO NOT trash them, as they may want you to return the ones that were incorrect.

Kimi--I have had very hit and miss luck with Vista Print. They have always made it right. I have gotten free replacements for everything they have screwed up. Call them and ask for Lori Holt. She is in charge of customer service. She will bend over backwards to help you. They want to make your stuff look perfect.

I got mouse pads for Christmas that were Way to dark. Talked to a representative and they sent me 2 new ones Express 2 day delivery so I would have them in time for Christmas. No charge! (I lightened all the photos, uploaded again, and they did free reprints)

Did you use their fonts? Or upload an already completed menu?

If you uploaded one with the writing already on it, maybe it wasn't a big enough file and that is why it is blurry? You can ask that too... they can look at the size of your uploaded image and tell you if that was the problem.

I uploaded everything from their website just to be sure that the sizing was perfect.

We got stickers printed too and those seem a lot darker than I had anticipated... (way darker than the image uploaded) but I'm not as concerned with those since they'll just be slapped onto their out of town boxes.

The two things I paid for suck but everything I got that was free turned out awesome. WTF

I would call them. I purchased Christmas cards from them Dec. 9th, was supposed to get them the 16th. When the 16th came and went still no cards, so I called and all they said was they should be there. So I waited 2 more days still no cards, all the lady could tell me was I should have got them and they could either refund my shipping cost or resend out new ones, which still wouldn't have gotten to out by Christmas. She also told me they wouldn't get sent out for 2 more days (tracking told me they were already in Charlotte since the 15th) and that it was b/c of the Holidays. But I did pay extra for 7 day shipping. So I called again and told them to refund all my money and they did. Well Dec. 26th came around and there were my cards in the mail. I don't like vista print and wont use them again.

Again, call them or do their online chat help.

They should fix it and send you a new order no charge.

I'm not sure what your resolution, dots per inch (dpi), was, but maybe that was the problem? They suggest your documents prepared for upload should be 300 dpi at 100% of the final print size. Higher resolution means a more detailed image, and also larger file and longer upload time. If you can, see if you can use 600 dpi.

Hi Kimi! Call them. Hayley is correct.

My first STDs arrived in the wrong color. They reprinted correctly and expressed shipped them for free and sent a 25% off coupon to boot.

I've had some things that looked very fuzzy (when I looked at the online print proof) and realized it was because of the dpi. Once I called them and they worked me through the photo mod, it printed perfectly.

So my invitations from Vista Print came today and I found a typo that *I* made. I could punch myself in the head. Luckily, to re-order will only be about $50, but I emailed them just in case they can help me anyway, since I will be ordering the thank you cards and stuff from them, too. I looked at that invite over and over and never saw it until they came today!

I have ordered a heck of a lot of stuff from Vista Print and only had an issue once. I will also echo the sentiments of the others. Call them.

I bought checks and they put the incorrect routing number on them. They immediately credited my account and sent the new checks expedited delivery.

I just did Cate's shower invites(post cards that will be put in envelopes). I uploaded pics of both Cate and her FH. I received an auto message after uploading that there was a problem with the resolution of her FH's pic. Since Cate's FH didn't have a better pic, I did not change things. The invites still look okay though.

Do you have pics of the stuff you ordered? Perhaps some of us can tell you what went wrong so your remakes turn out okay.

    Good luck!

Our programs came out a little crooked from Vistaprint-not extremely noticeable so I just used them, but I wasn't thrilled.
