Let's see your unique engagement rings Smiley smile I just got engaged and FH got me a traditional Irish claddagh ring as his family is very Irish. This won't be the "real ring" as he has one that he is wanting to have custom made, but we are currently on a trip to Paris and he didn't want to miss the opportunity to propose here so he got me a "placeholder" ring, though I still love it more than anythingSmiley smile

London blue topaz (variation of my birthstone) and white sapphire (variation of FH's birthstone), rose gold prongs, and a platinum band. I LOVE it! I found a rose gold band with different colored sapphires that I am considering for my wedding band.

Mine is blue topaz set in sterling silver. Blue is one of my favorite colors and I love sterling silver so this ring is perfect for me.

Mine has blue diamond on the side of the white diamond. My 2 bands will also be alternating blue and white diamonds.

Just becareful of morganite, it is not very hard and can crumble if hit too easily. Opal should not be used in wet conditions- it is porous. You can look into mossoniate, it's a recreated lab diamond with more brilliance. There so mmany options. Knox has some beautiful rings but super expensive

Mine is a white topaz. David Yurman. I love it!! We picked it out while vacationing in St. Thomas. 3 years later he put the ring on my finger.

Oval double halo. Not super unique since the rise in popularity but I am obsessed with it!

This is my harley quinn inspired ring, it has a matching wedding band that came with it. My fiancé got it from etsy. I love that it's flat because I can wear it at work and it doesn't catch on anything or anyone. ETA: it was the inspiration for my wedding colors too.

It's super custom. The part of the metal holding up all the stones are elephants. On each side there are monkeys engraved. I'm obsessed with elephants and monkeys. Blue because that's his favorite color. 2 blue stones on each side since I need things even number unless it's the number 5, which my stones add upto.

Mine might be a little less "unique" but I think it is. It's a one of a kind that a local jeweler found at a jewelry show. It doesn't have a single center stone, instead it's a cluster setting. I'd never heard of those until he was telling me about it.

I don't know if mine is that unique, but I haven't seen one quite like it in any ring threads so far. It's a sapphire surrounded by diamonds and was FMIL's ring. Most I have seen are round. Still trying to figure out what kind of band to put with it.

DF picked this out himself and went with a ruby since it is my birth stone as well as my grandmother's name

I have to say, I really love looking at all these! @Kate, I know that there's a common belief that opals don't like water, but the truth is that natural, solid opals are fine with getting wet. The types of opals that shouldn't get wet are called "doublet" or "triplet" opals, and they're not 100% natural. They're partially man-made and consist of layers of opals that have been essentially glued together. If they're exposed to water too often, the adhesive can wear off, potentially damaging the opal. I guess if you're going to go with an opal ring, you really have to be into opals. My jeweler told me washing my hands with soap and water isn't going to do anything to damage my ring, but I definitely shouldn't wear it while sleeping, showering, or doing any cleaning or anything else that involves harsh chemicals. I have little ring dishes all over the house!
