Unique Guest Book Ideas?

Caprice, on March 1, 2021 at 12:25 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9

Does anyone have suggestions for a unique guest book? Something that's light or easy to travel with given that we're doing a destination wedding? Nothing too messy (no thumbprints or finger painting).

We have a tropical/modern theme wedding and love beer...initially thinking one of those pineapple shaped shadowboxed and people sign their names on hearts to place inside, but it might be too big/heavy to travel with.

We did a 3D heart tree thing that people can sign. Complete customization on all colorings so we made the colors match our fall them. Really flat and lightweight so it is easy to carry in it’s box. Also comes with a stand that is easy as well. I attached the flamingo one just in case it gives you the tropic vibe if you like it.

We are doing a vinyl record. My FH is a drummer so music is a passion for him.

We have a few instant cameras and a photo guest book that everyone can add their pictures in. The instant cameras are small enough and easy to travel with, and the guest book fits into a backpack as well.

We are doing a shadowbox where people will sign a little heart and then slip it in. Ours is in the shape of a castle because I have a Disney theme going on. Not sure how light a shadowbox might be, but I think it's a fun idea because it can be hung on the wall after as a decoration!

We’re also doing a thin clear “shadow box” that people can drop hearts into. It’s very lightweight, not sure how well it will travel yet though because it’s pretty large. We’re doing a destination wedding as well, my FH’s brother lives in the same area that we do and they’re driving so if they’re willing we may just have them take it back with them in their car to avoid the hassle of trying to bring it on a plane or ship it. We did this as I thought with a traditional guestbook we'd lose it. It's not too big or heavy.Unique Guest Book Ideas? 4

    My two options currently are:

    A pair of bookends
A coffee table book that guests will be asked to pick a page and sign

We collect nice books like Easton Press and pretty coffee table books of space imagery, and have a nice "statement" bookcase in our living room. I'm leaning toward the bookends because they could then go on the bookcase, but also I like the idea of flipping through one of our coffee table books and stumbling on our loved ones' names and well wishes. Gives it a little surprise element, because we won't know which pages people signed until we go looking.

My fiancee and I both play hockey (that's how we met), so we ordered hockey jerseys for our save the dates (one wore the month as the number and one wore the day as the number) and we will also be using them as our "guest book" and then we are going to frame the jerseys after the wedding.
