I’m starting to plan my wedding hopefully for spring 2021. My fiancé and I are looking for a unique or slightly non-traditional venue as we are not really catering hall or fancy ballroom type of people. Ideally we are looking for something within an hour or so of NYC likely in North or Central NJ. For example, we did look at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton and loved it but are not sure if will fit our budget. Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

We loved looking at Bonnet Island in Mallard Island Estates. They do have the traditional ballrooms, but the setting is unique!

The Newark Art Museum is wonderful and fun. I'd recommend giving them a look. There is an exclusive caterer but the rates seem reasonable overall.
