Unique Save the Dates

My fiancé and I are huge horror movie fans and this is our idea for our save the dates but I wanna make the finger look as realistic as possible. Any ideas how we can do this?

OK makes sense! It could be fun to bake and decorate halloween style finger cookies as an alternative

While this idea goes along with your theme, it may not be practical in that it’s not something most would care to have sitting out or around as a reminder of your wedding date. I’m guessing most people will throw it away or it’ll end of in the back of a drawer.

Go for it! I think it’s very unique and goes perfectly with your Halloween theme. It’s a memorable save-the-date and gives a great hint at what’s to come for your wedding (which is exactly what I believe that save the dates should do). Additionally, I love seeing ideas that aren’t the same ‘ol thing over and over 🥱. Our wedding is the day before on 10/30/21. But we aren’t doing a Halloween theme. The most we might include are a few white pumpkins decorated with flowers and placed in a few areas around the venue. Congrats!!!

Yeah, it is your wedding and it is about you. But I don't understand the logic some people have that they don't care about the guests at all.
    .

I don't do horror movies. I don't like seeing dead bodies, real or fake. And I avoid this by not going to horror movies. But a box, delivered to my mailbox, with something I (and dare I say the average person) would find disturbing seems very invasive and insensitive, regardless of whether it's for a wedding or not..If you know that everyone you're sending these to would "get it" and not be upset by it, then go for it. But I would only send this to those people who you know would be okay with it.

Thanks! I find it very disappointing/discouraging that most of the comments are bashing my fiancé and I for loving horror movies and wanting to incorporate our love of horror movies into our wedding. In fact my fiancé and I have this joke that our guests aren’t gonna know if they’re coming to a wedding or a massacre lol 😆

I actually like the idea a lot lol. People know the difference between a prop and a real finger....also, your name and address will be on it as the return address soooo I'm sure your guests will know that it's something regarding your wedding or pertaining to you both. So there shouldn't be any "OMG A FINGER IN MY MAIL" reactions since they know who it's from, not a random stranger lol.

I like that it's unique and shows who you and your fiancé are. Just make sure to have some sort of separate card that has the details on it so they can keep that if they choose to toss the finger! Also keep in mine that postage will cost more since it will be a box! Smiley shame

Right! My fiancé actually joked that we could go to a cemetery and get actual cadaver fingers from freshly buried bodies lol and of course I laugh about it cause I said no the morgue would have fresher cadaver fingers but it’s all a JOKE!!! We’re actually planning on getting some silicone molding stuff for this to make it look like an an actual finger. Using our own fingers for the mold. I just don’t know how we’d go about keeping its shape and as far as the note inside of course and the boxes I’m not sure if we’re gonna do the boxes or if we’re just gonna put them in envelopes

If they're silicone then they should hold their shape through travel! Envelopes could work as long as you do the bubble mailers to keep it all secure! If that doesn't work, then you could try and see if there's a Halloween store online or something similar that sells them in bulk??

I am all for criticism but the bashing isn’t necessary I don’t understand how people can say oh that’s not appropriate for a wedding or that’s not appropriate for someone who has small children that’s not considered criticism that’s considered being outright RUDE!!

Well I thought about buying a bulk amount but I’d rather them look like our own fingers rather than a generic mold if that makes sense. I wouldn’t have thought about using bubble mailers at all
