What about customized reusable water bottles? Play off of the ocean conservation theme of the aquarium without being obnoxious. http://www.printglobe.com/printing/reusable-water-bottles.htm

Or if you want to have more fun with it, you could do beach bags. http://www.artpromos.com/dept.asp?id=414

As cute as salt and pepper shakers are... most people have a set already, and most wouldn't want a "themed" set... it doesn't really match most kitchens.

Just an off the wall idea, but what about a mini fishbowl with a little fish in it? Molly's are cheap and cute, as well as easy to take care of. You could also give away with the bowls little packets of fish food. It would be an inexpensive favor idea.

Wee fishies are cute but most my guests wouldnt bring it home if it wont fit in a purse or pocket

The salt & pepper set wouldnt be so much for use but i would customize it with our favor tags for each family like a keepsake, similar to the personalized votive holders or shot glasses often seen

    back to the drawing board!

Most aquariums won't allow outside sea creatures (dead or alive)… But check your rental agreement. Personally, if I was offered fish salt & pepper shakers, I'd leave them at the table. It's cute, but you'd be spending money on an item that your guests will either leave behind or stick in a drawer to be forgotten. I'd either save the money and nix the favors completely, or find something that your guests will actually enjoy~ What about a baggie of Swedish Fish candy? cheap!

At most craft stores, you can purchase melting chocolate (there are differen't colours available) and it should be fairly easy to locate seashell molds.. it's very easy and inexpensive, you could wrap the seashell chocolates in little bags.. it'd be cute and pretty (oh yea, & tastey!)

Love the bottle openers! So FH and I were at the local zoo this weekend for a wedding show and a vendor had beta fish in centerpiece holders. The first thing I thought of and said was that my guy and his friends would drink and someone would eventually dare to swallow one of those fish. Needless to say, she said if we used her we could not rent the fish. lol

What about making a donation to the aquarium?

Or colored M&M's to match your colors?

    Or a candy buffet?

All FH's brothers did the candy buffet and since we're the last im trying to be different. I get what you all said about the salt shakers though...i did find some cute beach frames that double as placecard holders.

glad i have time to look around!

What about a candy bar but your bags are labeled "Bride and Groom's Fish Food" and you can have candy that is aquarium themed like... Swedish Fish?

Well, you could do a beautiful underwater fish scene on a Hershey bar wrapper or... something like this: little glass sea life ornaments displayed by hanging inside a clear custom printed favor box.
