Unisex bridal shower?

Kionna, on October 3, 2019 at 11:29 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 10
I was wondering is it tacky to have a unisex bridal shower? Is this something one would think is weird? I would love feedback

Not at all!! It's generally referred to as a "wedding shower" rather than a "bridal shower" and involves friends and loved ones of both sexes. I've been to a few "couples showers" and they can be really fun!! It's definitely a different vibe from the traditional bridal shower. But that's ok. It's a great way for your family and friends to mingle and meet each other before the wedding too.

I think you don't see it more mostly because there are a lot of guys out there who don't want anything to do with anything called a "shower". LOL Mine included!! He said, "that's a ladies thing, you go ahead and have fun honey." LOL

Definitely not. If I had a shower it would have included all the genders. Let everyone in on the fun.

We had two couples showers! I’ve never heard it referred to as a unisex shower. But we did it because most of our friends are married and we wanted everyone to be a part of the festivities not just the women.

That's what I did, it was mostly a "bridal" shower -- but we let our friends significant others come because they're FH friends. I thought he'd be bored and I don't like not having him included, somehow. It feels weird. We've been together almost 9 years and while we can do things alone, I didn't feel like it was something I wanted to do by myself. Lol. So, we had some guys at my shower and it was super fun, all the girls loved it because they helped us with games and set up/break-down. I also didn't want a bridal shower, to begin with, so it definitely just made me feel like a fun little hang-out than an obligation (even though I am super appreciative of what they did, I'm just not overtly social).

Couples showers are common and we had one. I personally prefer them because they guys add a different vibe to them. We had a blast!
