Unity Sand ~ how much sand?

Natania, on January 6, 2012 at 1:50 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

SO I really like this one set of vases their dimensions are 2" X 2" X 4" . How many oz does that mean each vase will hold?

ALSO do yall think that these vases are too small? They are listed as "Unity Sand Ceremony Miniature Nesting Vases".

    Hello Natania!

I am a wedding officiant from New York. I assume you're thinking about using a sand ritual during your ceremony? If so - I would suggest getting something larger for two reasons:

    1. You want something large enough for your guests to see. Something that will be a real focal point during your cermony.

    2. You want something large enough that it takes more than a moment for you and your FH to perform the ritual.

A lovely ritual. Wishing you lots of happiness on your special day!

    Warmly,

    Rev. Jude

It's hard to say how much sand those will hold, as it depends on the thickness of the glass. I will say, however, to be sure to run a test on the container that you want the sand to reside in. I was at a wedding recently, where the sand didn't fit, and it poured out and kinda made a mess. The couple made a joke and laughed it off, so it was ok. Don't mix your sands, but if you pour in one color, it should be less than half full, obviously. =)

Hey! So the vases might be a little small butttt if you go with them,

according to my calculation, given that you have 16 cubic inches, that should be ~9 fl oz of sand/vase.

    Hope that helps Smiley smile
