Unplugged Wedding Wording

How does this wording sound? "As we tie the knot please be our guest; the photographer here can handle the rest. These moments go fast, as I'm sure you well know. So put your cameras down as we've hired a pro!"

What I meant was my guests know my personality and this fits that.

Exactly! If someone is so upset to think that a rhyme is questioning their intelligence, they’re the problem. It’s very catchy. Just like having a rhyming hashtag to pair to the wedding and pictures and such. I imagine the wording on a plaque or simple wooden board upon entrance of your venue. I like it!

I'm not really sure why everyone is getting so upset TBH. I meant that my personality is upbeat and I am into poetry. My guests know that.

I mean, a rhyme to relay a message is not for everyone but if it fits your personality, then there's nothing wrong with it. I also agree that it flows easily.

Yeah idk why people are giving you crap about a rhyming sign lol don’t they have better things to be angry about?!
Like I said before personally I wouldn’t do a rhyme just because I feel like that’s not very “me,” but to each his own! I would not feel insulted by there being a rhyming sign at a wedding I attended, and I would DEFINITELY not attack you on an online forum for wanting to have one 😂
Like jeez do people know how many terrible things are happening in this world, is a rhyming sign really the thing to go on a passionate rant against ?

I'm going to have my officiant make an announcement because I feel like people will listen more than they will read, and I'm not into signs (probably only have a welcome one near the guestbook and signature drink signs) however, the rhyme makes sense, and if it fits you and you want it, go for it. If people really get upset or bothered by it, I feel like they're looking for things to be bothered by.

Cute signs, especially ones that rhyme, are incredibly trendy. I cannot imagine the kind of personality one would have to have in order to take umbrage to an upbeat, cutesy sign.

Exactly! And to be honest, I wanted to get my point across in a respectful manner. I feel that an upbeat, rhyming sign does just that. I posted the forum to see if the wording was okay, not whether or not someone would get offended...I really didn't think it would turn out the way it did!

I agree with others. The rhyme is a little much.

Our officiant said it was best to put a small line at the bottom / back of our program. Our DOC is also going to do a sign outside.

I originally thought he'd announce it. But here is my dilemma with that ---- when? I am having someone play the piano and our soloist play and sing for 30 minutes before. Then it would be time to begin the processional. It seems like the most natural time (i.e. after everyone is in there and the music has stopped) -- it would already be too late!

This was ours. We had a table as you walked in so guests could see it.

I am having a Greek Orthodox wedding and I know exactly what you mean when you ask "when"? The way my ceremony is conducted, there is NO time to announce it. It's not like traditional weddings, either. There are certain times and places for everything.

I think its cute. You know your guests better than anyone on this thread. I considered a sign but didn't. Our officiant is just going to say something before we come down the aisle. We also put something on our wedding website FAQ page.

I agreed with you up until you said that this generation can't put their phone down...

I'm guessing you haven't met my 47-year-old mother who is highly addicted to social media. That sign would be meant specifically for her lol

Nothing to do with age... it's a person-by-person basis! Smiley smile

Hmm. I'm not sure. I will have a saxophone player play while guests arrive, but when they are seated prior to the procession he will announce to turn off and put away phones/cameras. I'm also not having a program, like you so it won't be written anywhere for me. But again, just not my style.

I'd be like "Wow, she put a lot of thought into making this rhyme, she must be serious about no phones!" Not, "Wow, she must be calling me stupid".

More meant this time or day in age. I realized it after I typed it. Haha. I'm in my 30s and I wouldn't in my wildest dreams do that. Neither would some well mannered teenagers. Totally know aunt June in her 80s taking pictures on her tablet at the most inappropriate times. You're totally right.

Exactly. I love it. I would think the same. Like this bride and groom means buissness but is doing it nicely and a very cute way in my opinion.
