“Unprofessional” florist experience.. would you go back?

I called to set up a consultation and I was told a designer would get back to me to set something up. A week later I hadn’t heard anything so I called back and the lady was very nice and apologetic, said they were busy with a bunch of weddings which is understandable, and we got a consultation set up.


I show up yesterday and the designer comes out and says “i didn’t know i had anyone scheduled today...” and I was just like oh well yes i’m sure this was the date... And it was a lot of awkward silence until she says “well i was about to clean up and go home.....” more silence. Then she says “can you come back tomorrow at around 2? if you absolutely can’t i can sit down but...” so at this point I don’t want to inconvenience her and I agree and leave.
My MOH doesn’t think we should go back, I’m on the fence. Their florals are beautiful, and it’s not that lady’s fault that something went wrong in scheduling. I guess it’s kind of rude that she couldn’t sit down when she wasn’t really doing anything but I don’t know.. Thoughts?

    They don't sound very organized. I would be worried about them missing or forgetting things for your wedding. I can tell you my sister had second thoughts about her florist and she wishes she would've listened because her florist messed a ton of stuff up for her wedding and nothing looked like what she envisioned. Based on her experience, if you are having second thoughts then I would continue looking for a different florist.

    Thank you! The weird thing is the they’re the most popular and best reviewed florist in my area so I was kind of shocked at the experience I had..

    The first florist we called, we had similar experiences and did not go with them. I described what we wanted over the phone and she goes, “what do you mean? People think I can just give a quote on guesses.” I’m like okay, I’m calling elsewhere lol thanks, but no thanks.

    I wouldn’t go back. If you’re already having that hesitation and not the best experience I’d listen to your gut. Find someone you can have that trust with and not have to stress about.

    I definitely wouldn’t go back. I’d be worry about how unorganized they are and unprofessional. I couldn’t handle the stress thinking they’d forget about my wedding day!

    I wouldn’t go back, not because I was mad about it or anything, but because I want a vendor who I know is organized, responsive, will show up on the right day. Based on what you described, I would feel less confident about all of those things and would worry about it until the day of the wedding.

    If they are this flimsy with just setting up an appointment, guaranteed they will be this flimsy throughout the process of planning. With any business, first impression is the most important part. The fact that this florist doesn’t understand that is a big red flag. There are plenty of other florists that I’m sure you will find

    Follow your gut. My feeling is if they act like this when they're trying to win you as a client what will be they be like once they have your money? It's one thing to have screwed up the schedule but, I'm sorry, a vendor should never make you feel like you're an inconvenience. She should have apologized for the mix up and sat down with you and given you the consultation. No matter how great their reviews are your personal experience should outweigh every review. At the very least mert with other florists as a comparison.

    I would not go back. They already messed up the schedules for your consultation meeting. They probably will mess up with your wedding date. Id definitely go somewhere else.

    I wouldn’t go. If that’s the way they handle a simple appointment, how will they handle your wedding? I would be stressing the whole way through!

    I wouldn't go back. If they are that disorganized with a simple appointment I can only imagine how disorganized they are with big things like your wedding.

    I would at least meet with other florists at this point to see your options. Even if the designer wasn’t aware that an appointment was scheduled, it was extremely unprofessional and downright rude to treat you that way, and it reflects poorly on the business that employs her!

    I would be too worried about something going wrong on my wedding day. I actually had a similar experience where the florist forgot we had a phone consultation and it just left me with a bad feeling. You're going to spend too much money on flowers to worry about if they're going to remember your wedding day!
