Unresponsive Vendor

Charlotte, on March 5, 2021 at 7:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Has anyone dealt with nonresponsive vendors? I signed a contract for a DJ and he was supposed to send over payment info so I can pay the deposit. It's been almost two weeks and I still haven't heard from him. His lack of communication makes me weary about booking with him...If I signed a contract that says in the event of cancellation, the deposit is nonrefundable, would I end up having to pay him my deposit or would I be okay considering I never paid him and just signed it? We really want to go with someone else...

I also had an unresponsive DJ. I had to chase him down to pay my deposit and it never got better. He was the only vendor I regret and was displeased with afterwards. I would definitely find someone else.

Hi Charlotte! Follow your gut, sounds like your instincts are telling you something. We got married in western PA and had a fantastic DJ. It would probably be a drive for him, but it may be worth a call. John Gallagher Event Entertainment in Erie, PA. John was our most responsive vendor, tailored the music to exactly what his clients want, and has up lighting and other additions if you want to add those. John is a really classy guy and he delivered exactly what we wanted. ❤️

I’d move on to someone else. If this is a taste of how he is in the beginning, how’s it going to be when it’s closer to the wedding?

I'd move on to someone else. I'd contact him telling him that you found a different dj and will no longer need his services. Ive had a couple of vendors not respond back to me, I give them a week if they don't respond in a week I move on to the next person.

I 100% agree with moving on, if there's issues now there will likely be issues down the line. Our VENUE totally ghosted us, we reached out to every avenue to get a hold of them! This was even after putting in all the effort of narrowing down menu options they didn't even give us the decency to let us know they were cancelling our date. >Smiley sad So incredibly unprofessional for any vendor to do this, TBH.

On the plus side there's tons of great people out there wanting gigs, so hopefully it won't be too hard to find a new DJ!

    Good luck!!
