Upbeat Postlude Country Music

*Future *R*S*K*, on May 28, 2010 at 5:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

I want to play upbeat country music for the postlude (after we're married walking back down the aisle) to keep the mood up and ready for the reception. I can only find a few songs. The ones I have so far are Kid Rock - All Summer Long, Josh Turner - Firecracker, and Jason Michael Carrol - Livin Our Love Song. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated! Also does anybody know about how may songs to play for the postlude??

For the postlude, you can have anywhere from 1 songs to 15-30 minutes or more. It depends largely on where the reception is with relation to your ceremony and what you're doing immediately following the ceremony.

    .

We normally recommend the wedding party go down the aisle during the recessional and then 'hides' while everyone moves to the reception site. This is so you don't end up spending a hour being congratulated and can get your photos done. This helps people to move along to the reception site and means you only need a very small number of songs (from 1 really long one to only 2-3). I normally recommend 15 minutes as a rough 'guide' but most people are gone by then to the reception site.

Its not really country, but I've always wanted to do my postlude to "How Sweet it is to be Loved by You" by James Taylor Smiley smile

My favorite postlude (AKA Recessional) is "Ever Ever After" by Carrie Underwood. It has great lyrics while the bride and groom and bridal party are walking back down the aisle! Smiley smile

While not traditional country, they've started playing it on the country stations.

Smile by Uncle Kracker. We are using that one.

We are having meeting with dj tonight and this is on my question list. I am walking into a nice instrumental version of the Wedding March (per FH request)... so I'm not sure if he's going to want the traditional again.

It's not exactly country but "He's a Pirate" is definitely upbeat and fun.... and as Michelle from Squawk Box suggests, Ever, Ever After is great.
