*UPDATE* Question regarding David's Bridal return - @jobu?

Ashley, on June 2, 2014 at 2:19 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

So I purchased my dress over a month ago - it came to the store in Chicago and they are shipping it to my house in Ohio - haven't received it yet. I just looked it up on their website and it's discounted now! I looked up their return policy and it seems like I *should* be able to return it, but would they just refund me the difference?

Anyone have experience with this? @JoBu, I know you work there - any advice?

*UPDATE*

So the manager worked something out and they are refunding me the $432 difference. She asked for my credit card number and I told her my dad paid cash so they are sending me a check. Donna at the Orland Park, IL David's Bridal rocks! I have had a GREAT experience at that store so if anyone is in that area and looking, I highly recommend. Thanks for all the help, ladies Smiley smile

Thanks!

That would be something I would speak with that stores manager with and if you get nowhere contact their corporate headquarters, you will be more likely to get the difference through there. This happened quite often in my store and my manager refused to ever refund the difference. There's also no set "price adjustment" period. Only if the dress is on layaway, technically you haven't purchased the dress so you can cancel it and repurchase it at the sale/clearance price.

    Thanks, Danielle.

I bought it in the store and it looks like those are final. The manager at the store (who was also my consultant) was super helpful so I may give him a call.

Do you plan on getting your alterations done at David's as well? If you speak with the manager and she isn't willing to refund you the difference, bring up returning the dress for a store credit and ordering a new one (it will come in on time seeing your wedding date) and then use the remaining credit for your alterations or preservation kit, jewelry, bra, shoes, whatever else. They also have cute bride/groom jersey's, garters, photo albumbs, flower girl baskets, guest books, card boxes, etc.

Didn't plan on it, but if the credit is an option I wouldn't be opposed to it. I talked to the manager, she is going to look into it and see what she can do. It's usually a 14 day return policy with in store purchases but since I have so much time and I haven't even received my dress yet, she is trying to help me out. I'll mention the things you said when she calls me back...

I've really only had good experiences with this Davids Bridal - so if they can't do anything about it, it's not a huge deal. My dad paid for the dress and I would love to get him some of the money back, but if not I know he won't mind (mainly bc I won't tell him).

Did you use a credit card by chance? Some offer price protection where they will refund you the difference if the price drops within a certain amount of time.

Bump - just in case anyone was in a similar situation at David's...seems like a lot of their dresses just went on sale.
