Update to the Weddingwire Seating Chart Tool

Hey there Mrs.BowmanToBe, I really appreciate you sharing this with us. That's helpful feedback and I'm going to pass it along to our development team.

I just checked mine and it had multiple instances of having more than one person in a chair. No, Tyler doesn't want to sit on Jana's lap, thank you. It also changed some table shapes, but that's not a big deal. It just makes the layout look different.

I can imagine Tyler and Jana would each prefer their own seat, musical chairs is probably best saved for another time... What browser is this occurring on?

Are you able to move your lap-sitting guests and adjust your tables? I just want to get a sense of if this is only related to the initial change it layout or if there are some bugs in the works.

I'm on Chrome. I am able to move them to their own seats easily.

AHH!!! The update is definitely not as user friendly as the original! I miss the function to zoom in and out. I feel like all my spacing is messed up too now. so sadddd.

Also, when I try to download a PDF of the chart, it just downloads one page of 4 tables, with all the seats blank. I have a seating chart of 22...am I doing something wrong?

The seating chart is horrible now. Looks so cheap and plain. Everything I created looks totally different and all picture icons r gone. The budget is so confusing and does not keep up with the payment progress for each category. Seriously considering changing to The Knot.

Hi Tiffany! This is a bug that we are aware of and working to resolve! In the meantime, you can still use and print the list view with guest names by table.

How soon will this bug be fixed? It is now approaching two full months since last response with no resolution on the horizon.

Hi Andrew! The bug concerning seating charts printing blank (with no names) was fixed awhile ago! I just check your account and did a test download and was able to see the names printed for all of your seating assignments. I did notice that you have a lot of empty tables as well in the seating chart, so that might be what you are seeing when you try to print?

The problem I am having is not being able to adjust the room dimensions, or zoom in/out on the layout. The functionality of the seating chart segment seems to be vastly diminished. What is being done to make it like it used to be?

I noticed this as well! I loved the old tool for the seating chart. This does have some improvements but I can not tell you how many times I had to count each square to make sure the room was the right size. Then if you move a table to close to the edge it makes the room bigger!! Also, it is really hard not being able to zoom out and make it full size.

Still works though and I look forward to filling people in as the RSVPs come!

Edit: I really wish it could filter all the people who are attending and not seated from those who are not. Am I missing something?

I have used wedding wire for seating from the time it used to be on the Martha Stewart Weddings website, so for YEARS. I use it annually for a major event I host with 400+ attendees. I am so disappointed in all the functionality that was removed and has rendered this tool confusing, and useless. Updates should increase functionality and ease of use. If this was how your tool would have been years ago I never would have used it (and referred it to many, many people) over the years. Unfortunately, I will be seeking out a different tool. Clearly the people updating this tool have never had to throw an event.
