I think I did mine the next day...but during? I wanted to enjoy my day...and my bridal party didn't allow me to have my phone near by!

What are your thoughts on this?

Lol, ours will probably be done the day after, we leave for the honeymoon on Monday so we'll have some time to spend time with fam and what not. I do foresee some people (aka my sister) harassing the heck out of me to change it though. When we got engaged it was kinda later in the night we went out to eat immediately afterwards, I called the important people and then we both updated our statuses, before the end of the night I had like three comments from her saying "Girl, you better update your relationship status"..... Umm I'm pretty sure the ring is what made it official but whatever

Sad and scary. The fact the anyone would sacrifice one single second of such a day on...hmmm... facebook?!?!? It's mind boggling to me.

Lol thats kinda sad. It took me like 2 weeks to change my status when we got engaged! I will probably wait to change it until we have some down time after the wedding.

OK I have to say that I'm a tiny bit of a facebook addict but only in the sense that I'm always looking at it...I don't really think I even post stuff all that much. I will make a point to wait until at least the next morning to update anything. FH on the other hand, while not necessarily addicted to FB, is addicted to his phone. We've already debated over the fact that I would prefer he not have it on him on our wedding day. He insists that it be in his pocket, on vibrate. No idea why it must be on him if everyone that could possibly try to get ahold of him will be in the same room with us.

We had friends who got married a couple years ago and both husband and wife spent the entire HM posting pics and updates about what they were doing. IMHO your HM should be spent enjoying each other. Not a bunch of people you barely talk to. This won't be an issue for us since we're going on a cruise for our HM - no cell phone reception or internet access to tempt us!

    I have three main questions:

    1. Aren't most of the people you want to "update" going to be invited to your wedding anyway? Hell, I would update WW before I updated FB. You guys cared more about my centerpieces than my long lost friend from kindergarten.

    2. What is DB planning to do with this information? Are they coming out with a line of dresses that have holsters for smartphones?

    3. What the hell is a hashtag?

    That is all.

We were just having fun recently when one of my friends changed her status to "married". Except that it was their 10th anniversary.

There should be a better solution to thins.

Definitely don't think I'll have the time to do this - it can wait until the next day or something

And I believe the hashtag has to do with Twitter....I guess people who have it on their FB their status gets updated on Twitter as well so that's why you see it - otherwise if you don't have a twitter then it's no use for it

I'm thinking I will do it at the airport the next morning at 6am. I cant image even thinking about my phone until the wedding and reception is over, but I will have it that am since I won't see my finacee from the evening before until ceremony time and I want to at least text him.

@Kris- Hashtag is from Twitter you use it to keep all the tweets under one "subject"

    Example:

They just cut the cake!! #n&jwedding

That's ridiculous! I'll change mine probably either the next day before we leave for our honeymoon or when we get back!

I am already married via FB after our German ceremony. So no I will not be singling myself only to remarry myself on FB all over again. And no I did not update my status in the midst of trying to understand our German ceremony although now I wish I would have had Google translate in my bra strap, yeah I needed that.

I might possibly do mine on the drive from the Church to the reception site..but then again I probably won't have my phone on me.

I think I updated my status 2 days later sitting in the airport waiting to leave on our honeymoon.

I also asked people not to post any pics until DH and I did so. I also disabled my wall so if they did post pictures then they wouldn't be seen on my wall.

I won't do the status change til the name change goes through on there. lol

*edit typo... I am full of them today!

Also, I may very well stitch a pocket into the lining of my dress for my phone, ID, mirror, etc. I'm insane & I don't like having others hold my stuff.

We both did the next day. I, too, did not have my phone for the entire day. It was nice. Although it would have been nice if one of us would have had a phone in the getaway vehicle when we had a flat tire...
