So my HMU trial is this Saturday. I’d like an updo since the wedding is on the beach and I don’t need my hair blowing all over. But. My hair is very thin and fine. Is an updo even possible? So my HMU trial is this Saturday. I’d like an updo since the wedding is on the beach and I don’t need my hair blowing all over.
But.
My hair is very thin and fine. Is an updo even possible? I’ve looked all over Pinterest and the “thin hair” pics there don’t look the least bit thin to me. I have some saved to show my stylist but I’m just not convinced they’re going to work for me. I looked at clip in extensions at Sally’s and they were insanely expensive. Really not looking to spend that much on top of everything else.
Help!

I also have fine, thin hair. I I am getting a low, loose, full bun. When I showed my HMUA what I wanted at my trial, she basically told me the only way to get it was with extensions. So I budgeted for clip-ins. She said for the style I am looking for, you do not need a bunch of extensions, between 8-10 will be sufficient to add fullness to the bun. (Here is a photo for reference). To me the extra money is worth the result.

I too, suffer from a case of thinning hair! I have a lot of it, but it's thinner on my scalp. To give it the effect of "fullness", I use hair fibers from xfusion. It comes in all hair colors and you basically fill in the thinner areas with it and voila - it looks like you hair nice, thick hair. This also helps if you're having an updo, as it will make your hair appear more volumized.

I was considering wearing a hairpiece on one side of my hair, but my hair is so thin that it couldn't even hold the hairpiece in place. It literally flopped right over. Smiley sad

I'm sure you're HS will give you the best choices to make, maybe she can add extensions or use a hairspray that works best

Update: I had my trial today! I’m pretty happy with the way it came out considering just how little she had to work with.
