Updo or Down?

FutureMrs18, on May 3, 2018 at 8:29 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10

I am in a huge debate on how to wear my hair for the wedding. My dress is below. I'm debating on either a low updo/chignon or just curls down. I have a very visible collarbone. I'm still not sure if thats a good or bad thing. I am also debating off the shoulder straps however I don't think that will change the hairstyle. Any ideas?

It is a tough decision, I'm trying to decide myself. I also have a strapless dress and am leaning towards a "loose" updo. I feel that fits better with strapless but that's just my preference. Have you had any hair trial runs yet?

My dress looks very similar to yours and I added off the shoulder straps. I do not photograph well with my hair up, so I'm doing half up, half down. I feel like you can't go wrong with a half up, half down look, or even all down.

I think it all depends on if you like to be photographed with hair up or down. I personally dont like it when my hair is all the way up, but because the back of my dress is super pretty and detailed, I dont want to cover it up, I'm doing a messy low updo with face framing pieces which is something you definitely could do. So if you dont want to cover up your back, depending on how long your hair is, you may want to consider an updo. Otherwise. I think a half up and half down hair style would be super pretty with you dress!

I think a chignon would look really pretty and classic with that dress! But I agree with PPs, if you don’t like the way you look/photograph with your hair up completely, you may want to do half up/half down or down completely.

My dress has a sweatheart neckline and I am doing either half up half down or completely down with loose curls.

I’m always a fan of a low updo, I think it stays in place and is elegant. Plus if you’re concerned about humidity and frizz, like I am, it’s nice to just not have to worry about it throughout the night. You can also show off your back!

I prefer hair down, but that's just me. I think both would be great with your dress.

I feel like I'd like a down hairstyle with this dress a little more. I'm doing a half up and half down, that's just something you could consider.

Definitely updo. Especially since you'll be running around at the reception and dancing etc. It will be elegant and helpful to keep your hair from sticking to the back of your neck.

I have a similar dress and I am wearing mine half up. I think you can't go wrong either way!
