A renewal automatically means a new ring. I don’t follow that logic at all.

I don't think that's a thing. In fact, I think most couple keep their original rings.

I think it's personal preference, the traditional route isn't for everyone. Do what works for the both of you.

You have the option to upgrade rings or you could have a special message engraved into your original wedding bands instead. It's a decision each couple has to make together.

Totally understandable that you would like a new ring! Nothing wrong with that.

Here are a few more options/suggestions if an entire new ring set isn't an option Perhaps this will help your DH get on board too!

Some ladies like to add an additional band to their original wedding set (usually the engagement ring and wedding band) The extra band is worn on the other side of the engagement ring to make the band and ring appear larger.

(Images aren't exactly the same rings, but the concept is )

For instance say this is your original wedding ring

Adding a band to celebrate milestone anniversary/vow renewals

Another idea would be for you and your husband to make modifications to your current rings, for instance replacing the diamond (increase diamond size, cut, shape, clarity, etc), adding other gemstones(I.E. emeralds, ruby, sapphire, etc), adding a design to the band, or anything else you would like!

However, I think the best idea since you seem pretty determined to get a new ring, would be let your DH pick out the ring for you and you pick out a ring for him. This could be a special surprise, on your special day!

This is my current band and ring her name is betty boop lol had her now almost 5 years....buying new rings seem to be alittle out of our budget but I want a bigger diamond lol and thank you for giving me such great suggestions...imma look into that band and ask my DH what he thinks. He honeslty needs a new band his an appereitence and his band is damage...so yeah will see...
