Uplighting ... Diy?

ThatGirl, on March 18, 2018 at 10:56 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

Has any one DIY'ed uplighting? Our DJ doesn't do it, which seems to be the "norm" and I don't want to have to hire and manage a 2nd vendor for this but I do think it might be a nice addition to our space...

Has anyone done DIY uplighting? looking for recommendations, warnings, was it worth it?...any info at all!

Thanks Smiley smile

I am getting mine thru the company I’m renting my photobooth thru, but I have seen some very wonderful looking ones that people put up themselves- I would check w your venue too because for our venue they only allow wireless upligjts for safety reasons

I saw Walmart has some uplights for less than $10 per light. If I decide to do any, I’ll be getting them online from there.

The easiest way to do it would be to get some LED lights that you can use, they tend to be cheap and battery operate so you don't have to deal with cables, and some of them change colors. Something like this would be easy -- and you could hide them in plants. Because they are LED's you don't have to be careful -- if you put them in bags or something that direct the light up, they'll work even better! Good luck!

You can probably find a rental company. I am not sure this is something I would DIY bc of chords, proper set up, etc.

We found most places charged $15/light. Our photobooth company actually offered us 5 lights for $50.
