Uplighting or no?

FutureMrs.V, on February 13, 2018 at 5:37 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 3
I will have string lights hung from the rafters or our venue along with a couple decorative chandeliers. The tables will also have a ton of candles on them. I really don't want to have to turn on the lights in the venue because they are pretty harsh and will take away from our romantic vibe. Should I just do an amber/gold uplight? Or will that look completely out of place? I am struggling to envision this. Our DJ does it for only $10 a light, but I wouldn't know how many to do. I want it to be dim in the evening, but don't want guests to struggle to see anything.

Unless you really need it I would say no. That’s a lot of lighting sources: candles, chandeliers and string lights then uplighting. Our photographer said it’s best to stick to one or two sources in the same color shade for it to photograph nicely

That was my thought too. I didn't want the colors of light to clash because most of it is a warm white. Plus when the dancing is going we will have DJ lights. Sounds like I can save the money 😊

Wow 10 bucks a piece is a steal. I paid 35. I've been to weddings and the uplights certainly sets the mood.
