Useful bridemaids gifts?

Chantelle, on June 5, 2021 at 11:07 AM Posted in Planning 0 15
Sorry I know this is probably asked a lot, but I’m wondering what bridesmaids gifts that you’ve received/given turned out actually useful? I’m thinking to get my girls makeup bags (each in their own color that they like) and then fill each makeup bag with something more special or more personalized. Does that sound like a good mix of a useful matching gift for the girls, but also something personal in addition? Any other advice or suggestions are appreciated too!

I gifted my BMs Guess wallets that I got on sale. I think their box had their name inside with a wallet, a lotion, and a card and a little bracelet with their initials on it ( i wasn’t heartbroken that they didn’t use the bracelet, they were cheap and I wanted to gift it anyways).

I think everyone can use a makeup bag. Nice idea.

This is pretty much what I did. I’m not sure what they thought of it, but I thought it was a nice gift. In the bag I put hair ties, chapstick, and lotion (I think). And then I did a bag with their Initial (nothing fancy just something to hold everything in) a t-shirt and a picture frame.

As long as it doesn’t have names/titles on it, that might be ok. Avoid anything that are props for the wedding day or pictures (all jewelry, robes/pjs, champagne glasses, hair/makeup/dress, etc). Get something related to their individual interests that you might buy for Christmas or birthdays. What are they into? Get something unique for the kitchen if someone is into cooking/baking. Go on Etsy and find something related to someone’s Harry Potter/Star Wars/LOTR interests. Go down the list for each while staying in budget.

Those are lovely makeup bags and I’m sure will be put to good use! There are lots of things you can fill them with—did you want ideas for filler?

Avoid anything that says Bridesmaid/titles, they will not use it again. The gifts I got that I used most often were a wallet, a stainless steel tumbler (no name or anything on it), a bracelet from my sister with charms that related to our mutual interests, a makeup bag. Anything that had a title on it, I hate to admit but I trashed. I personally don't like monograms or my name on things so I tend to tuck those away and never use them again.

I just have to give a different opinion than the others- I LOVE getting items with the title on them (MOH, BM, etc). They make me feel special on the day of the wedding 🥰 and aside from like clothing items, I've used them all frequently. My sister gave us cold drink tumblers and I love it!

I got my MOH a tumbler that says "Maid of honor for a day, best friends for life" and it has a picture of us as a cartoon just as a keepsake. I also got all bridesmaids cheap lil slippers with "brides maid" on them just for some fun keepsakes & pictures. Other than that, I love your idea of useful things for the future.

I am doing EOS lip balm (found a ring cut out that wraps around them on ETSY). I also am getting silk robes for everyone but I am not going to have them branded with wording so they can wear them freely at a later time. Smiley smile

I got my wedding party robes, but I let them choose the color and the monogram. Everyone was stoked. It's a thing that people can use again and again, and just happens to be cute for photos. (I got them from the WW store - they're still on sale, by the by).

I got my girls a cartoon portrait of my favorite picture of me with each girl and a nice leather luggage tag. Most of the girls were recently married or soon to be married so I got their married names on them.

I shopped for them like it was q gift for their bday or something. A bottle of their favorite wine, wine glass, pair of fuzzy socks, etc. Amazon had good options as well.

I know we have several totes but I think it is nice and great to carry personal items on the day of the wedding. Etsy has many personalized totes. I would get both if you could afford to do so.

My favorite gift was a set of wine glasses and a bottle of wine. Very useful, and I'm the wine addict/lover of our group.

I don't know how this would work with budgets, but I've always felt like one gift specific to the wedding, like a bridesmaid robe, and a more personalized gift is a good idea

I got my three girls these huge beautiful boxes from Michaels that open up with a magnetic lid with tons of stuff to put in there. Tumblers, pearl necklaces and earrings that i want them to wear on the wedding day (because i let them all get different dresses that were their style, just the same color), robes with their nicknames on the back for the day of the wedding, make-up bags, chapsticks, hairties . My girls are getting spoiled because they have been their for me for the last 18 years and I don't have a huge budget either, i've just been picking things up to fill their boxes over the last two months and I still have another two months to find more little interesting things to put in there. i hope they love them.
