Using Azazie for bridesmaid dresses? Tips/Advice

Ashlei, on October 27, 2015 at 2:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

I am thinking of using Azazie for my bridesmaid dresses. I will be paying for their dresses. I have 6 bridesmaids total including 2 MOH. I love the different styles, colors, and pricing available. I ordered 4 color/fabric swatches and just waiting for them to arrive. I know my girls are not thrilled about getting dresses online for the fear of not being able to try them on. Azazie allows you to sample 3 different dresses for $10 per dress. My question is should I pay for each girl to try on 3 samples? That would be $180 total. Or should I take them into a bridal shop and have them try on styles they like then let them each sample one dress from the site? Each of their body styles are different. Also I am wanting to try to go with shades of burgundy for their dress colors (orchid, burgundy, mulberry, grape). How do we decide what color each will wear? Do I let them pick? What if they all but one want to wear burgundy? Any advice/tips is much appreciated!

I'm not sure about you paying, but my girls all got their dresses from Azazie.

I ordered the swatches, picked 3 colors for them & the fabric, and told them to pick any style they wanted. Then they did the custom sizing - they reimburse you $50 if you need alterations and do the custom sizing!

We used them for our girls dressed. All did custom sizing after paying to try on samples (they paid for the ones they wanted to try on). They all did have to get them shortened to wear with cowboy boots. But they all looked great. We chose blush pink, all chose different styles! MY MOH did try on hers the day before with all her accessories and such, and the zipper got stuck and broke. Luckily we knew someone who could do an emergency fix! But the price is still perfect for all that. The quality of the dress was like you would find in a bridal shop if not better!

Well, my BMs paid for their own, so they also ordered samples on their own if they wanted. I think only 1 did (she recently had her first baby, so was unsure of her body changes). The others used the sizing guide and they fit great. They are really long, so they all had them hemmed. Other than that, it was very minor alterations.

My advice was going to be to order them all on the same day to keep the color consistent because of dye lots, but it looks like that won't be an issue for you.

I'm thinking of using them. They have such a great selection and the prices are great, plus the alterations reimbursement really sweetens the deal. Still nervous about it though. Following this post.

I wonder if that alterations reimbursement is new. We ordered in June. When I called their customer service to weigh the pros and cons of standard vs. custom sizing, they never mentioned that.

We used Azazie, and pretty much everyone tried on at least one dress. I would definitely recommend sizing up and then getting alterations. A bunch of them are kind of unflatteringly high cut, so I think some of my girls got the V-neck fixed, even if the rest of the fit was right. They're so affordable, that that's still cheaper than going with other designers. 2 out of my 7 bridesmaids did NOT have to get alterations at all.

I would highly recommend doing trials, but not necessarily 3 at once -- I tried some of the dresses, and found that different cuts had different sizing (ie: the 4 fit me perfectly in one design, but I could barely squeeze into a 6 in another).

These are all great ideas thank you! I think I am going to do a day of browsing with my girls so they can each find a style they like then pay for them to try one sample each. The reimbursement for alterations is really great! The reason I am buying the dress is because I wanted to keep it as simple and affordable as possible for my girls. This is my plan:

I Pay For: Sample dress and Dress

Bridesmaids Pay For: Alterations and Shoes (I am not requiring a specific shoe just gold they could be $10 flats for all I care)

Bridesmaids Optional Costs: Hotel, Make-Up, Hair, and Nails

I know that some girls want to get their hair and make up done while others don't so I feel bad offering to pay for that when some might not get it. Figured I could just buy all of their dresses for appx the same price and not have to deal with paying more for one girl than another.

Just keep in mind that the alterations reimbursement only applies if you choose the custom sizing, not the standard sizing.

If they choose standard sizing (not custom) they are returnable but only for 10 days. All my girls ordered samples but the problem with that is they don't always have the size you want to try in the sample. The quality and material seem good and you can't beat the price. If I feel differently in a month, I'll let you know lol

I got my bridesmaids dresses off Azazie, and it was great! I picked a color and we just ordered samples in a couple of dresses they liked. It worked out because one of the styles, the arm holes here very small, so I definitely recommend trying the samples.

We're ordering from Azazie. I picked 6 dresses and ordered them all for try on and gave my girls the week I had them to come over whenever worked for them to try on. From there we actually ended up picking one dress for all 6 since they all liked the one the best even thought I was going to let them all pick their own dresses.

My girls decided to give me their money and have me order the dresses so that we could make sure they came in at the same time (& would be cut from the same dye lot for the ones in the same color).

The dress quality was really good and the colors are beautiful, The only reason I haven't ordered our dresses yet is I'm still deciding on my colors lol. But I definitely say go for it. the dresses are very inexpensive and well made!

My girls ordered their dresses from Azazie! Our wedding is next weekend so I can't say yet to how they hold up after a couple hours of wearing them, but they seem to be well constructed and my girls look fab in them! I think only minor alterations for all 5 of them! I highly recommend using them!

Do a sample party for sure! My one tip for the day of the wedding is to bring a sewing kit in case their locking zipper decides to not work on you. I had to get sewn into my BM dress at my best friends wedding due to this.

But I have used them for other weddings and the dresses worked fine then and everyone else at my best friends wedding did not have any issues.

This thread makes me feel better because I'm planning to use them too. I bought my dress at Alfred Angelo but most of the bridesmaid dresses there are in the $150-$200 range compared to $110 for a lot of the styles on Azazie. I was planning to pay for my girls to each pick one sample.
