Using Zola as Wedding Website only

Taylor , on May 30, 2018 at 10:33 AM Posted in Planning 0 14
Has anyone or is anyone JUST using Zola for their wedding website and rsvps and NOT for the registry feature?

I love how easy it is to send a link to all my guest so they can plug their address and other info in and it goes straight to the website and or a spreadsheet! I also love their templates for the wedding website.

BUT I’ve heard nothing but bad things about their actual registry. It gives the option to had the links to other registries such as target and bed bath and beyond. So I was just going to do this, and bypass theirs lol

is anyone else doing this?

P.S. I understand the whole point of the website is to conveniently use their registry, but the site seems to have a lot of other cool features as well.

Thanks!

I have my website on Zola. I liked the overall layout and design choices versus other websites. I did not do the RSVP option, as I wanted to take the traditional paper RSVP route. I also didn't use their registry either... I had better luck just registering through stores we shop at and Amazon!

You can absolutely use Zola for their website and RSVP options, and not their registry! I did anyway!

Awesome! So did you just add your Amazon link to your registry section on Zola?

Yes! We registered at Crate and Barrel, Amazon, and Bloomingdale's. There's a Registry tab on your website where you can add links from your registry to that tab. That way, your guests can access everything easily.

My sister used Zola for their universal registry feature. You don't have to use the honeyfund portion to have your registry with them, I don't know why people think Zola is evil. Her wedding website was through theknot though.

I never heard anything like that, and she had no issues as far as I know.

I'm using Zola as well. I started with their registry but did hear about some inconveniences however there is a charge to guests who pick something from there, and there is a charge because that's how they make their money being that the website it free for us. I believe it's like a $3-4 fee, so it kind of makes sense. I will be doing a registry with Bed, Bath & Beyond and have one started with JcPenny because I know sometimes people like to purchase from places where they actually know and can go to the store if there is an issue with an item.

I am taking advantage of the E-RSVP because I can send it to our friends which are comfortable using links and will save the paper version for the older folks in our family.

I'm doing the same as you. We won't be using the RSVP exclusively due to many people not being super tech savvy on our guest list, but I have to say that I love the ease of their website set up and guest list abilities. We have browsed the registry possibilities, BUT they offer way more high end items that are way out of the budget of our guests...I mean $57 for A plate is just not what I'm looking for. I'd probably drop it while opening it. We also haven't really gone full speed ahead on a registry yet because we are a LONG way away from our date, but I think we will try to link if possible?

We also don’t have a registry yet neither since our wedding is also pretty far out. But I did a test run by using some one else’s registry that is up and running lol I placed the link in and it worked. Went straight to their registry. I plan on using the rsvp to try and save money by not using mail in rsvps. But just a heads up, for your tech savvy people, they have a link you can send my text or email and it allows your guest to fill out their own address. And you can export it to a excel spreadsheet. That can be a lot of help to you still!

Same! I plan on using their E-RSVP feature as well. And I absolutely love that they have a link that I can send to my guest which allows them to plug in their own address and info. Less work for me! lol
