I agree with Hanna and Sunshine.
I’m getting married next Saturday. We are down 8 quests because they all went on a camping trip together. 2 of them are our best friends, both are vaccinated. They are assuming it’s have the Delta Variant. They were supposed to marry us Smiley sad
I am I at this moment learning other friends got together with them and got sick and have NOT told us! I called this friend to find out the deal she just texted me saying they were sick early in the week but now they are better. I’m shocked and disappointed that they would overlook the importance of staying away. Our friend they were with is in the hospital unable to breathe! I’m making a page on our welcome website and using the honor system. I’m hoping people take this seriously. I’m being direct and to the point. Here it is:

Hello, everyone, COVID-19 is on the rise and as much as we want everyone to be able to celebrate in person, we do ask that if you are feeling ill or have been exposed to COVID-19 within two weeks of the wedding to please stay home and toast us from afar. We also respect everyone’s individual decision in choosing to attend or not attend in light of COVID-19. For this reason we will have a virtual option to witness the Wedding. A URL link can be forwarded to those who cannot come due to illness or decide to attend virtually. Please, we ask you let us know if you cannot attend so we can adjust the guest list.

For those who can attend, please note that we are expecting to follow current guidelines set forth by the state of Massachusetts. Right now wearing a mask is up to an individual based on their own risk assessment and vaccination status. Please use this link for more information. https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-mask-requirements

Should state guidelines change, we will be announcing any updates on Covid-19 protocols and what safety measures we need to adhere to.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are very much looking forward to our Wedding day and cannot wait to share it with family and friends

Again, no. Effective infection control includes hand washing, masks, vaccines, social distancing and avoidance of large gatherings.

Our Wedding has whittled down to 40. It’s an indoor/outdoor venue that holds up to 175 people not including the tent outside that holds 250 people should it rain. I’m not worried about social distancing as it will be very easy to do. I’m mainly concerned about symptomatic quests coming to our Wedding. Hand sanitizer will be provided and masks will not be frowned down upon. I’m leaving it up to guests to access their own individual risks. I just want to make sure symptomatic people stay away.

Avoiding large gatherings… which none of us having weddings soon are technically doing. So, give or take whichever control measures you’d like for your wedding. We’ll all do our own things I guess, I was just trying to provide alternative perspectives ✌️

Never got mad! Trying to add an alternative perspective, which happens frequently on lots of different posts on this app Smiley smile the topics are just usually not as controversial as vaccines, so that’s probably why it seems there is more emotion to my posts than there really is. But anyways, truly from one bride to another, I hope you have a great event despite all that has occurred in this past year and a half.

This isn’t the place for trash talking your family members. Just mention that people need to be vaccinated and move on. If they aren’t cool with it, make live-streaming an option. But trash talking people online is not a low you wanna hit . Gotta respect others or don’t say anything at all.

No that's accurate public health information, nothing to do with weddings.

Just trying to correct misinformation, which is not a matter of perspective.

Not trash talking- just stating facts. Also like I said before, I can only respect others choices if it isn’t affecting everyone else in the process.

Your comment doesn’t make sense to me, but let’s just agree to disagree because let’s be real, there is conflicting science out there that we can both find to support our arguments. So hope you have a great wedding!

I'm really not pointing out the misinformation in order to argue with you. It's to provide the accurate information for others who may be reading this thread.

I totally agree. It's only a personal choice when it doesn't affect everyone around you.

That’s assuming your information is correct, and my information opposes your information so that’s why I used the term “argument”. we both have our sides that we can support. Unless anyone on this app is a highly educated epidemiologist, then we are technically just providing our informed opinion on these topics, hence why I said that I was simply offering a different perspective and never claimed that my perspective was correct or superior! I’m genuinely curious about COVID vaccine mandates across the board, And Im of the general opinion that healthy debate is beneficial to society. That’s why we’re all on this app anyways, to get insight from others on our questions/ situations!

Hannah, I'm not going to debate this with you. I am in the medical sciences, not an epidemiologist but I'm qualified to review scientific information. However, I am aware that there is not point to debating facts with you. Having said that, I do feel an element of responsibility to point out misinformation when I see it. This is a wedding website however, and further discussion with you on this is not relevant to this thread.

I’ve listened to the Betches Brides podcast a lot on this! They suggest including it in online RSVP and putting in website FAQs. Kind of similar to how you would let people know you’re not having kids at your wedding

I would suggest reading through the information on the CDC's website you sent a little more closely. It's irresponsible to say the variants are rendering the vaccines essentially ineffective. That's what I was saying is not factual. The link to the page you sent me literally says, " COVID-19 vaccines are working very well to prevent severe illness, hospitalization, and death, even against the widely circulating Delta variant." Reduced effectiveness does not mean ineffective and the reduction in effectiveness is a few percentage points.
