I had too much internet yesterday and decided I didn't want to get into another vaccine thread but you can't delete comments here. Since I'm already in, here's what I said if you are curious:

I'm requiring vaccines to attend, because as the host, it is my responsibly to host an event that is as safe as possible. Vaccines for those who are medically unable is not a possible precaution. I made the call to allow this risk for the one impacted guest for that reason.

It's too late for me to change vendors, so I'm requiring masks for any that won't disclose.

To answer the original thread, I put it on my website and added stickers to the invites telling guests to read the covid requirements. My dad is the only one I reached out to personally out of respect for him being my dad. He is in his 70s and if unvaxed would be very high risk. If he got seriously sick shortly after the wedding and I didn't try to prevent it, I'd spend the rest of my life feeling like I greatly reduced his quality of life or worse, killed him.

To the people that think the requirement is invasive, I'm not asking anyone why they RSVP no and I much prefer they don't call me up to tell me and instead just RSVP no or get vaxed. There's always reasons people can't attend weddings and I'm not demanding anyone be there.

Wait, non-related question, but how do you edit comments on here? I never knew you could!

It gives you an option on the computer, I think shortly after you post. I know I have edited typos a ton but it won't let me edit old messages.

I wouldn't because there are people out there who are against the vaccine for a variety of reasons and might miss your wedding or get offended at your request,

The full vaccines are not "essentially ineffective" at this point. They still protect well against severe disease and death, which is why 90+% of covid ICU beds are occupied by unvaxxed. Boosters are recommended for specific populations like immunocompromised and may be expanded to over 65s depending on vote. Most vaxxed people have a baseline protection without a booster.

Yes, you're right. My overall point in a wine stupor was: in a year from now some brides may be having to deal not only with asking for fully vaccinated guests but perhaps proof of boosters for certain groups on top of it because of waning immunity. I crossed the line and am sorry.
