Vase filler...any suggestions?

MrsJD4Life, on June 12, 2011 at 4:49 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

Ok so after figuring out what kind of centerpiece i am going to make, I have started looking for the stuff to make them with. The Centerpiece idea is the first picture. Instead of red filler, we are using blue. However I cannot find cobalt blue vase filler that is not expensive. First I am not sure how much I will need. I will be making 5 centerpieces. Also instead of a votive in the small holder, I am putting smaller filer in that with a smaller floating candle. Does anyone know where I can get cheap cobalt blue filler and how much they think I will need? I really do not want to spend more than $20.00 on the filler. I am at a loss and both MOH and I tried stores where we live and cannot find anything. Thanks!

Filler isn't very cheap. I'd try to hit a good sale. Maybe consider mixng the blue with a clear you can buy at a dollar/discount store.

Normally I recommend buying used, but the shipping costs on the filler would be really high.

I think you just may have to price around. eBay, save-on-crafts.com, or even see if you can find something local on Craigslist.

Depending on what you are looking for, you can try COD wholesale. They have stuff like deco beads, submersible lights - just to name a couple.

Try the dollar store, ours has some different fillers. You can also try ebay.

Do you have a Christmas Tree Shop near you? They have a great many different colors of filler, however, I don't know if cobalt blue is one of them.
