Vases?

6 years later, on November 30, 2011 at 5:44 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 42

Ladies,

for those who made their own centerpieces. Where did you find decent vases without breaking the bank?

I got tall cylinder vases at Hobby Lobby when they were on sale for $3 each. I saw something similar, though not as tall or as thick at Dollar Tree this weekend for $1 each. Good luck!!!

I joined Michael's loyalty program and every week I get a coupon for at least 40% off one item. Sometimes it's 50%. With them, I have purchased my Eiffel tower vases for only about $5 each (they are 20" tall so are normally around $9 or $10). You can join for free and after you have purchased $250 they start loading your loyalty card with other freebies like 20% off my entire purchase or $5 off any purchase of $20 or more. Since you have so much time before your wedding you could definitely take advantage of their savings. Good luck!

Dollar stores. It took quite a few trips though to quite a few store to find the ones I liked.

Ahhh I didn't even think about Hobby Lobby and my Future Father in Law is a manager there. Duuuhhhh you can tell I'm a newbie at this stuff. %40 off every week? I can buy one a week until i have ten lol.

What are your thoughts on an Eiffel style vase with these and maybe some tiny lights inside? http://www.save-on-crafts.com/icedbranch.html

    TY everyone!!

@6years-I like those branches. Are you going to have some sort of fillers in the vase (rocks/beads/flowers)? Or just lights?

Dollar Tree. They're smaller than I'd really like, but there's just no way I could afford $5-10/vase.

If thats a dollartree vase I'll be okay.

Jessica, I want a filler, but nothing that will be too much and distract from the branches. i like that they sparkle but are still simple...besides, everyone should be looking at ME anyway LOL J/K i'm so not a diva....yet

$2 from the dollar store. I bought the vase for a $1 and the candlestick for $1. Little bit of gorilla glue and it's a great height Smiley smile I'm also using wider shorter vases. Ignore the "diy" trial bouquet lol

Hobby Lobby usually has a half off glass sale every 2-3 weeks (sign up for their newsletter - they email the sales every Sunday).

For any branches, I would recommend some sort of vase filler. Hobby Lobby has glass marbles for about $3.00 a bag, but again, wait for a sale and get them half off.

Thrift store or dollar tree; they have a LOT of vases on their website and you can order them to be delivered to your local store.

I got mine at Hobby Lobby during a 50% off glassware sale. They have them all the time. The Dollar Tree has some pretty decent ones too. You could check craiglist or thrift stores also.
