Vegas elopement and a hometown reception??

Ashley, on April 13, 2021 at 1:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
Hi,

Recently engaged!! We have been together for 10years, two kids, home. Already married pretty much. We wanna save money. (Currently renovating a house). Vegas seems like a great cost effective less stress option. My fiancées idea. I’m really digging it now. For Vegas I would only wanna invite immediate family and close friends. 50ppl Max.He’s got a rather larger family. Would it be ok to host a catered bbq after the Vegas wedding in my Sisters backyard so we can celebrate with them. That way the older generation can still celebrate and not feel left out. TIA!

Sounds like a great idea! My FH and I actually agreed to a small wedding so we can use the money more towards house projects and traveling Smiley smile After our small ceremony venue we were just going to have everyone come back to the house and have tacos from a taco truck. Simple, but still memorable.

Sounds fabulous! Vegas wedding + local reception at home.

But isn’t a 50-person wedding there still expensive? Wait, I see you’d have a catered BBQ at his sister’s house. Rentals (tables, chairs, extra bathrooms because 1-2 in one house aren’t enough), could still add up.
