Vegas Wedding Chapel alternatives!

Brandy, on May 1, 2013 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

Okay, we are getting married in Vegas next spring/summer. I don't want a cheesy chapel wedding and we have 80 people on the list right now. It has to be pretty inexpensive and we have our own priest! Any suggestions? I have called every chapel and emailed tons of churches but they won't let my priest do the ceremony! Anyone FROM Vegas and know of a nice park or some other option that I haven't thought of yet??? HELP!

We are getting married at Caesars in the Juno garden. I believe they (and most other casinos/hotels) will let you bring in your own vendor but there is like a $200 or $300 outside vendor fee.

I looked at the Mirage and most other casino/hotels...that one is pretty expensive for the ceremony only. Smiley sad

Have you looked into some of the country clubs/golf courses in Vegas? Most of them will allow you have your ceremony there for $300+.

Or, some restaurants will allow you to have a ceremony in their restaurant (facing the Strip, city, or the mountains, etc.) providing you host your reception there.

The wedding opportunities are endless in Vegas, in my humble opinion. I'm glad you're coming to Vegas for your wedding! Smiley winking

I also had my own minister to officiate. We got married at the Platinum Hotel and Spa, but I had a horrible venue search and much was because I didn't want to pay the fee Moira mentioned (and some just flat out said no). My ceremony was also basically free with them but I had a $5K F&B min.

I don't know your budget, but one of the other places on our short list was the Botanical Gardens. Also, the Grove has pretty good pricing and I believe they let you bring in your own officiant. Artisan Hotel and Rumor Hotel also do weddings and they will work with you on the officiant. And there are other casinos on the Strip that have less expensive ceremonies than The Mirage.

Here's the link to the parks rental, but it says they rent for $75-$300 an hour so you might be better off going through a venue anyway...

We're getting married at Caesars as well but in Venus Garden. There will be about 60 people at my wedding. They do charge $300 outside vendor fee. A friend of mine is getting married at Lakeside. It looks beautiful as well. They're pretty reasonable. http://www.lakesideweddings.com/

It's very difficult when you don't live there -- and I didn't get to go visit before the wedding either. I found that youtube and yelp were my best friends. In fact, I had somewhat settled on a venue then I happened to put it into youtube one day and found that there was a large dumpster right next to the ceremony location that you could plainly see in the home video someone had posted -- not the look I was going for!!! So I had to start my search all over...

Oh my gosh! Good thing you found that out! That's a great idea, I will start doing some youtube research! Do you mind me asking which venue had the dumpster problem?

Lol I'd like to know about the dumpster too. I'm looking at Vegas venues for my wedding now as well. Please tell me it's not at Caesar's Venus or Juno Gardens.

@FinallyDoingIt I am pretty positive Caesars gardens are dumpster free. I have dissected every YouTube and picture I can find on the internet LOL

And if you need any info on Caesars let me know I have asked a million questions.

I got married at the Paris Hotel wedding chapel back in 2002. It was gorgeous, very reasonably priced and our guests raved about how pretty it was. I'm not sure what it's like now, but back then it was wonderful.

We are getting married at A special memory wedding chapel..its off the strip, very lovely and not expensive at all! I do believe you can bring in your own offiiciant just send them an email to confirm. Our package is 300 with roundtrip limo, officiant, my bouquet, his bout and the photographer. I love the fact its off the strip..no stripper billboards in the pics and quiet! Check out their site....

What if you looked away from Vegas - into some of the suburbs at community parks etc. They might be more willing to allow you to use your own officiant. Good luck!

Sorry y'all for the delay - No, it's not Caesars. It was at the Flamingo...OH and I couldn't tell this until I got there for my wedding and went to check out the venues that had made my last short list, but one of their "garden" venues has fake grass like the really bad plastic stuff. So glad I dodged that bullet!

Paris brings up a good idea about suburbs. Although all of my experience about planning a wedding in Vegas was that everyone figured out where the money is and charge accordingly -- even the parks Smiley sad

I wasn't a fan of the Flamingo either but would imagine a lot of the grass is fake in Vegas, it is the dessert LOL

Don't know your budget but you could rent a limo bus or something to shuttle your guests back and forth. I made sure the ceremony and reception were in walking distance, it just depends on where your venues are located.

We are also getting married at A Special Memory Chapel and like Kristine G said it's not at all a cheesy vegas chapel. It's not far off strip and then we are doing reception in-suite on the strip.

Moira -- maybe so, but at least it looks real. I can't even describe this stuff, but like the picture but OLD and maybe cheaper Smiley smile They pump so much water into that place that it looked fairly lush in February -- except this place!!!

Limo's and busses are pretty expensive. We had everything in one place so I didn't have to worry about that, but when I was seriously considering the botanical gardens, the best price I got was from Earth Limos. We did wind up using them for our strip tour and they were on time and the car was clean and everything. I can't speak to the larger vehicles. Limo/bus service might be something to look for on thumbtack.com too -- where you get several quotes from one form.
