Veil Dipping in Tea

Michelle, on June 19, 2017 at 11:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

Has anyone dipped their white veil in black tea to make it ivory?? My aunt made my veil and it is absolutely perfect...but way too white against my ivory dress. EVERYONE is suggesting tea dipping. Has anyone done this?? Tips/advice???

So I haven't tried this myself, but if you have scraps you can test first I would HIGHLY recommend it so you can figure out exactly what shade you're doing for and how long you need to let it set for

Is there any chance that if the veil gets wet while you're wearing it it could transfer on to your dress?

I have dipped tons of things in tea and/or coffee, but never a veil. If you do dip it, just make sure to wash/rinse it well afterwards to make sure none of it transfers onto your dress.

I'd test it first with scraps and tan dye instead. Maybe dilute the tan dye. The tea thing sounds risky to me.

Is it really that noticeable of a difference in color? I thought about doing this. I have an ivory dress and white veil but realized when I put them on together you couldn't really see a color difference. Can we see a picture?

I would just buy more fabric and have her re-make it in the correct color. Do you have a JoAnns near you?
