Veil, flower crown, other headpiece, or nothing at all?

Becoming a Spraggins, on April 25, 2017 at 1:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 27

I have a question. I've been to weddings before and am planning my own now. For your wedding do/did you prefer a veil, flower crown, other headpiece, or nothing at all? We are having our wedding in his grandmother's beautiful giant backyard. I'm worried about wind and the veil getting in the way especially during the reception afterwards. I am not a traditional bride so I'm trying to figure out what I need to do. Is that something I should worry about? Also if you did have a flower crown why and what did it look like?

I am wearing a headpiece (DB calls it a tiara but its not a cheap looking one like a prom tiara) and a veil. If the wind will be a problem, then invest in some veil weights. I hear they're not very expensive.

I'm doing a flower/greenery crown. Mine will be super simple with mostly greenery and touches of yarrow. We are having an outdoor wedding up in the canyon and there won't be much decor. Because of this, I wanted to find little ways to add touches of our colors (most will be with FH and his suit/tie).

Plus, I don't care how overdone some people may think they are, I think flower crowns are so pretty.

I'm just doing fresh flowers in my hair, but not a flower crown. Do what looks good and right with the style of your dress

I'm doing a hairpin that has small antlers on it.

a lady I know had some super stunning flowers in her hair. I was honestly jealous at how gorgeous they turned out.

I was originally going to go with a flower headpiece which my florist was going to make me but when I went dress shopping and I ended up falling in love with the veil they pulled for me to try on with my dress. I only plan on wearing it for the ceremony though. I say do whatever you like the most! @shaybird I love that look!!!!

I did a headband. I really did not want to wear a veil (I found them to be uncomfortable, unflattering on me, etc) but my mom was all about the veil. I kept saying I wanted to wear a headband that had some pearls. I kept trying on veils for her, but the result was always the same. I was uncomfortable. When we found this headpiece, she finally realized that it would be enough if I ended up not wearing a veil. I didn't try on anymore veils after that. I should get the digital copies of our pro pics this week or early next week, but for now I can share a picture a friend took that sort of shows it.

I am doing a rose gold metallic vine crown and a veil for my beach wedding. I will take the veil off after the ceremony for dinner and such but leave the vine crown in.

I was obsessed with my veil! I never pictured myself in a long veil but I just fell in love when I tried it on with my dress! I highly recommend trying veils on with your dress so you can see what you like. I also had a headpiece.
