Veil or No Veil?

Samantha, on December 30, 2019 at 6:03 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 6
Hi everyone! I’m picking up my dress on Friday (I’m so excited!), and now I’m working on accessorizing it. The dress I have is open backed, so I don’t want to wear a veil since that’s my favorite part of it. Plus, I haven’t cared for them when I put them on. On the flip side, I feel like veils are very bridal and you really only get the one opportunity to wear them. Has anyone had regret over wearing or not wearing a veil?

If you don’t love it when you put it on then I wouldn’t wear it! I was 100000% sure I wouldn’t want a veil and I chose a dress with an open lace back also, but once I put a veil on I fell in love so I plan on wearing it for the ceremony and then taking it off for the reception, but if I was on the fence I probably wouldn’t have bought it.

You could get a sheer veil thay shows your back and just wear for the ceremony and pictures but if you're not a veil person don't do it.

I wore a veil for pictures and the ceremony and took it off for the reception. My back was sheer but I wanted the feel and look of a veil.

I'm having the same debate with myself. I really didn't want a veil, especially bc of the back of my dress, but worried I might regret it. I would also only wear it for the ceremony and a few pics after so even if the back is covered, it's only for 20 min of the night. I'm now leaning towards wearing one.

Omg no way on the veil. I cant do it. Spend a bunch of money on your open back dress and a bunch of money on your make up so that the veil covers your lovely face and back?? Nah. If youve gotta have it, then maybe get a short veil or one of those short comb ones that are more than a veil- also a flower/other accessory like the picture Veil or No Veil? 1

If you're on the fence still & feel fabulous in your dress without it, then don't do it. I was dead set on not having one, but I tried one on with my dress & fell in love. If you don't love the look, don't do it!
