Veil too long...?

Sylvia, on December 2, 2020 at 2:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Hi all! I recently posted my dream dress (which I love so much.. can't stop looking at photos!)

I just received the veil that matches my dress perfectly! I adore it so much because it really ties in with my dream bridal look. However, I have had some people say it's really long (but it still looks good!)

I think this dress either needs no veil (which I always was going to get one) or a really long veil (like the one I have) because of the way the back of the dress looks. A shorter veil would take away from the dress and look distracting (in my opinion).

What do you all think about the veil? (not the best photo but I was the only one there to take the selfie haha, sorry!)

Hmm. The back of your dress has gorgeous detail that will not be able to be see with a veil covering it, nor when you bundle it up for the reception. If you want a veil, I would go with something that fits hip length

Since the train of your dress is basically only really seen during the processional and during your ceremony, I would really be hesitant to add a veil that covers up your dress's train. After the ceremony, you will (likely) remove the veil and bustle your dress. I agree with Michelle that a shorter veil would make more sense.

I think that it looks okay together but I agree that the veil takes away from the train of the dress

I think the length of the train is perfect for your dress! I know it seems like it is covering the details of your train, but I suspect it is just because of the poor quality of the picture and the fact that the veil is all bunched up on top of your dress. From the first photo, it looks like your veil is quite sheer & would easily show the details of your dress through it. Is that the case once the veil is smoothed out? If so, I think the veil is absolutely gorgeous with the dress!!

I agree with Chrysta. I bet it looks gorgeous for the dress. It’s long enough to let the transparent part shows the train, and the trim is perfect. Imagine all the pictures you can have with that veil. Look it up online 😉

I think the photo posted in the comments shows it better now! It certainly doesn’t cover it! What do you think now? 😊

As a veil designer, it won't cover up your train! Wear it!! You will look gorgeous!! Congratulations!! ❤ My train is almost 7 feet and my veil is almost 14 feet ( including the blusher). Haha!

My dress has a really cool back and a decent train. I was going to do a fingertip veil so everyone could see the dress, but I just bought a cathedral veil because I felt like a queen in it lol. I think if the long veil makes you feel beautiful, then you should stick with that. It looks like you can still see the detail on your dress and I actually love how the two look together!
