Veil vs Flower Crown, or both?

Meesh, on August 29, 2018 at 2:51 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

I am seriously torn between wearing a classic wedding veil and a rose gold flower crown that I fell in love with. Or...is it tacky/too much to use both? I love the flower crown style (metallic/metal with stones, not silk flowers although I also love those too) but I know a veil is also important to a lot of people to use for its symbolism... anyone here planning to do both or do you all would it look "off" or be too much? Feel free to share pics of yours if you have any!

Do both!!! It will be beautiful. There’s a bride here who did a real flower crown & veil and it looked stunning.

I've seen both done and it looks great. It all depends on how you use them.

Search "crown and veil" on Pinterest and it will give you lots of hair ideas. One I like is where you wear the veil like this...or even tucked under the "knot"

I plan to do both a veil and a small tiara. I think as long as the flower crown isn't huge and over the top, you'll look great with both!

I just went to wedding that had both. She detached the veil for the reception and just wore the crown, it looked awesome both ways.

I did both a flower crown and a veil. I removed the veil after the ceremony.

That's a fab idea!! I think I'll probably do that as well. Wasn't planning on sporting the veil throughout party time, but I love the crown and think it would look adorable throughout the whole reception without being bothersome Smiley smile

My hair and makeup company said to choose between either a veil or a flower crown. She said it is way too heavy and will pull too much on your hair and could give you a headache. I wear head bands a lot in general, so I opted for a veil.

Hmm... Hoping My hairdresser can work some magic, my veil is super lightweight. so maybe if I buy a crown that's also lightweight it will be OK. Plus I do plan to lose the veil after the ceremony portion which will only be a little while... Maybe I need to play around with it together and separate to see how it will feel on my head!

Yeah if its not a huge flower crown it could totally work. I would just play around with it and see what feels comfortable!

I did not experience that problem whatsoever. My flower crown as you can see used big roses and flowers and was not heavy at all. But you can see in the last picture I posted that the florist made it into a headband style so we could place it comfortably on my head. I usually can't tolerate to wear headbands all day because they hurt but this didn't hurt at all. I did try a flower crown with my HMU trial so that helped to determine placement, and wore it all day to determine if I liked it, etc.

I'm planning on wearing a tiara and my mother's veil fashioned onto a comb so I can remove it.
I forgot that part of the ceremony includes wearing a crown (either metal or greenery) for part of it. Im thankful his mom wants to make the crowns so it won't mess up the hair too badly
