Vendor wants me to pick up refund. Tea/wwyd

Okay I know this is petty and I should just go get my money, but here's the back story.

We had our wedding at a nice venue that did their own catering. The price was really fair, and our guests had a great time. I didn't particularly like the owner as he doesn't seem to write anything down and would ask the same questions every time we talked. But with a fair price, good food, and a pretty venue, that was fine.
The issue came with that I have a few family members with celiac disease (can't have gluten). On the very first venue visit, the owner confirmed that the kitchen can make a few extra meals with no cross contamination. We booked the venue. I asked about gluten again, and the owner said to email the gluten free guest count. I did. The week before the wedding, my now husband asked the owner about gluten free again. The owner said that actually he can make the whole buffet gluten free, so no meal has to be special. I let my celiac guests know.
The night of the reception: no gluten free food. As people were lining up, I had to quickly pull aside the gluten free people and let them know they can't eat Smiley sad
The staff was never informed apparently. Well, a few days later I leave a four star review because the venue was nice except the owner didn't plan our gluten free food.
The owner called my husband (not Mr) and asks him to tell me to take down the review. He claimed we never talked about gluten free food. He claimed the venue doesn't even do gluten free. Since then, he's emailed about 3 or 4 times to reconsider the review. He has asked several times if I'll come in to talk to him. We've kind of ignored him.
So about the deposit. We were supposed to get it back two weeks after the wedding. He didn't begin attempting until a month later. The check got "lost in the mail". I wonder if he even mailed it tbh. I had to email him 4 times to convince him we didn't receive the check.
Now, this week the owner has finally cut a new check. He wants me to come in to get the check. I feel like it's his responsibility to get the check to us, not for us to come get the check. Part of me does want to get the check to be done, but I feel like he is trapping me to come into the venue to tell me my review is a lie again.
I'm not taking down the review because it's a true review. Should I make him mail it again? Or ask him to have a worker personally deliver it? Or should I just go get the check myself like he wants? What would you do?

Is the venue far away? Unless it’s a very inconvenient location that’s far away, I would go in person, pick up the check, and leave. If he wants to complain again, he can do so as I walk away. You literally have email exchanges about the gluten free meals. If he keeps harassing you, you can inform him you will file a restraining order against him. You can also ask that he leaves the check in the front with a receptionist or something so you don’t have to see him.

The venue is pretty close to us actually. That's part of why I'm conflicted. That's a good idea with the receptionist 🤔. Might do that actually!!

I would go pick it up and leave as soon as the check is in your hands, rather than asking him to mail it. This way, the check doesn't get lost in the mail again, and you can be done with them. You don't owe him any kind of further conversation about the review. If he tries to ask you about the review before he gives you the check, just keep asking for the check, and don't engage in any conversation about anything else. I also agree with Hannah's idea of asking him to leave the check with a receptionist to avoid issues.

Go get it so you can assure you actually receive it. If he starts harassing you to change your review, tell him you’ll change it to three stars due to post-event harassment if he says another word.

Go get your check and then leave whatever review you want. Get your money. They can't actually do anything about what you later post on the internet.
