Vendors...how long is too long?

Pang, on July 9, 2019 at 8:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 3
My wedding isn't until May of 2020. I get it. It's awhile from now but I've been in contact with this one particular caterer, whom we discussed the menu and my budget. I wasn't 100% about the menu. So I put it off until I could come up with an alternative menu that is within my budget. I reached out to her via email over two weeks ago and I've still haven't heard from her. I know I can always call them but they always pass me off to their sales team and I end up leaving a message anyways. This company is pretty reputable but this particular salesperson is very slow at responding to my questions. Should I cut my lost and look into a different caterer?

Maybe send one more email then move on if you don’t hear back in a timely manner

I would move on. If they can’t communicate now it won’t get better later. And ten months is not too soon to figure out the catering.

Hey Pang! If you are really interested in the caterer, then perhaps you would like to reach out one more time before moving on to another company. If you call them on the phone, ask whoever you are talking to how long their usual email reply time is. You can also express that you are not happy with the turnaround time of information.

If they do not get back to you after this, then I would definitely start looking into other caterers.

What type of food are you looking for?
