Vendors not taking credit cards

Ok so my florist is the most reasonable in the area, but she doesn't take credit cards! Actually the only two of my vendors that DO take credit cards is my venue and my dj! Quite personally I'd rather get the points on my credit card. Has anyone run into this or is it still common for businesses to...

The bakery for our cake and our florist are the only vendors willing to take CC's. We'll probably just head to the bank a couple of weeks before everything is due to just get banker's checks to cover everyone and cash for the tips.

My venue... They charge an additional 3%... Sigh. Would be so nice for those hotel points! I think it is because they get charged by the credit card company and it cuts into their cost.

This was my biggest frustration and stressor. We don't own checks, our bank didn't even offer them to us as an option, and they charge $35 a check book and we refuse to pay money for paper to spend money- it's ridiculous. So for the wedding, we paid a little extra to use money orders and Pay Pal.. But you better believe that I was cussing and angry every time. I get it though... They don't want to pay the fees to process the credit/debit cards any more than I wanted to pay for a check book or the additional whatever for the money orders. My advice is to just deal with it even though it's irritating and inconvenient.. The wedding will be over quickly, and there really are only a few you have to do this for in retrospect to all the purchases and bills you have to pay in your regular life..

A lot of our vendors were independent and not part of a large corporate shop so most of them didn't take credit cards. They have to pay to have that ability/to take cards - so it makes sense. We paid with a check for everything we possibly could.

Literally none of my vendors take credit cards. My venue is cash or check, same with photog. I venmo my DJ cause I work with him at our day job lol and florist mightttt take a CC but I haven't asked her. Limo, hard no with a CC except the deposit.

My venue said to bring a card day of just in case we have an extra hour of bar so we can charge but the wedding that was contracted has to be paid in full before the event

I can’t imagine not taking them, for the little they cost me, the abilityto accept them has brought me business.

You can call your CC company and sometimes they will issue a check to your vendor and then take it from your card.

Our caterer was the only vendor that did not take a credit card or some other type of electronic payment (Paypal/Venmo). It is not uncommon for small businesses to not take a CC though.

Our venue and caterer only allows the deposit to be paid on C.C....everything else for them has to be cash or check which is a HUGE portion of what we have to pay. It super bummed my fiancé out because he wanted all the points too!

As a small business owner we just paid our monthly CC Fees for last month and it is 1700.56 for just a month and that was LOW because we had some days we didn't work... the fees small business's pay for your convenience to use a card sucks! but a necessary evil in our business!
