Vendors Post Wedding

Hmm.. I actually look at this in the opposite light. I am the one that was needing a service, and I am the one that sought them out. So if anything, I feel that I would be the one that owed them a thank you for providing the service I wanted. I mean, I pay my doctor for his services when I am ill, but I do not expect him to send me a thank you note afterwards. Same thing with any service- I don’t expect thank you cards or follow up emails from the kid that bags my groceries or the lady that cuts my hair.

I agree with Cece and to be completely honest, I don't really understand your frustration here.

You pay your vendors to perform a service and they do exactly that. You might have been the person to hire them but we need them more than they need us, and if it is a good vendor, its highly likely they would've been booked by someone else had we not booked them ourselves.

Literally the only vendor who reached out to us post wedding to say something was our celebrant. We left her a phenomenal google review and she emailed us to say thank you for leaving her such a kind review.

How is a wedding vendor expected to go out of their way to thank you for hiring them compared to any other service professional outside the events industry? I just think your expectations are a bit off here.

Um no lol. I also don’t thank my boss for hiring me to do my job. Do you?

You thank them for doing a good job and fulfilling your dream. Weddings are a dime a dozen, especially this year. If you didn’t hire them they likely would’ve been booked the same day by another bride.

I agree with all PP, what do they need to thank you for? You didn’t do anything for them except pay for their service. If anything I was planning on sending thank you cards to them.

All of my vendors were pretty sought after so if it hadn’t been me hiring them, someone else would have. Why would they reach out afterwards and thank me for that? Do the managers at your local grocery store thank you? Does your hairdresser send you thank you cards for letting them do your hair? No, because it’s a business relationship and that isn’t necessary.

It's a business arrangement, not a personal relationship. If you didn't hire them, someone else would have. I think your expectations are unrealistic.

Hmm, maybe this is a regional thing. I definitely received personal handwritten thank you notes from several of my vendors (photographer, hair and makeup artist, florist, etc.). We had mostly higher end vendors so maybe that's why? I have no idea. I wasn't expecting thank you notes from vendors to begin but I was surprised when we received them in the mail.

Their thanks to you was providing you with service. You should be thanking them for a job well done. You didnt do them any favors lol.

No luv just no….You paid them for a service they offered you. You didn’t do them any favors by hiring them because of you didn’t someone else would. I truly hope you can see that
