Anyone else have trouble getting in contact with vendors?
Im still looking for hair/makeup for my october 2020 wedding.
Im part of a wedding forum for my state on facebook. I recently posted i was looking for a vendor. Tons commented saying to comment them. So i tell them the location, date which is on a friday. The number of people ( myself, 5 bridesmaids, possibly 3 mothers)
The vendors either leave me on "read" and never reply. Or they reply days later saying they are already booked that day.
Is this happening to anyone else??
Im wondering how they can be booked out that far already, especially for a friday?? Or are they just saying they are booked because they dont want to work with the number of people who needs service day of?

    That seems really hard ahead for them to be booked, but I think it depends on where you are located. If you are in a more popular area then it it makes sense that they are booked. I didn't really use Facebook as a way to find vendors so I am not sure how those groups worked. My suggestion is to look for someone through this site or The Knot as that is how I found all of my vendors.

    October is probably the most popular wedding month, so it is possible that some of them are booked already for your day.

    Beyond that, I'll tell you that in my experience, the hair/makeup artists were the most difficult vendors, in terms of communication, etc.

    It might be easier to talk to someone in person, like if you have a favorite salon, or you know of a salon near your venue that might be interested in your business. Otherwise, I would just keep bugging until someone answers you.

    I can't speak for any other vendors but October is very busy for weddings. Since I am also getting married in October, and my birthday is in October I have had to turn down several couples for this year and next. If you are trying to book that early, so are other brides. Try getting recommendations from friends. You might even try asking some of the vendors if they know other vendors that may be available.

    I had the worst time booking my H&MU. I had a similar problem to you, either no one would respond, or they would respond that they are booked, or they would respond first and then ghost me. I finally found one, and she seems amazing, so maybe it was just luck.

    Regardless booked or not they should still reply, if they are leaving you on read for days I would not evem book them... what happens when you have questions or after the wedding and need your albums? October is very popular and you are about one year out so it may be possible they are booked but I am sure you will find someone and someone who will respond!

    I have reached out to a HMU artist as well and her response time is really long! I even had to email her again and be like hey did you see my last email? Then she finally responded

    HMU book up quickly. Have you tried the vendors on WW? My original MUA had to cancel on me, so I was in mad dash to find someone else, and found my new MUA through WW. I also tried Yelp. Ask your venue if they have any recommendations. I even contacted a MUA my florist tagged on her Instagram. In regards to being booked for 2020...Most all the artist I contacted then checked their Instagram and I saw a lot of post about their 2020 calendar is getting filled up quickly.
