Oh and you owe us additional $240.00 for a bounced check and early-cancellation fee. I then ask him can I bring you guys a money order or cash for the deposit. He says no our policy states that if any method of payment doesn't process we have the right to cancel the contract at anytime. We have made several attempts to contact you to handle the matter in a timely fashion. I never received a call/text/email or anything from your company. I will even screenshot the contact call list to prove. Ma'am that's not necessary , but we would like to tell you the $240 is payable with cash only. I then asked so when did you guys know the check bounced ?

And before somebody ask ,yes they are insured and TABC certified . Only about 70 % of my guest actually drink. The older guest mostly drink those type of beers and Daily's mixes. When we threw my mom a cancer free party we bought almost the same stuff without a bartender and it is more than enough. This is why I budgeted for a bartender from what I seen at my moms party it was a lot of waste . People stop trying to judge and find fault I know my guest and what they drink.

You will run out of alcohol at that amount. So here's some drunk cats.

People drink like fishes at a wedding...its free booze to them. And countless drinks are left half full because people set them down to mingle, forget about them and then go order another.

Personally, I would suggest getting a bit more...for that size bottle you can get around 47 shots of liquor in each (1-1/4 oz drinks) although most event bartenders will use a 1 ounce pour. Vodka is going to be your most popular drink as it mixes with anything and assumes the taste of the mixer. Tequila I would do without, unless you want people doing shots all night once the night gets going.

Your beer count I would suggest to increase....I've had nights where I've had NO PROBLEM polishing off almost a whole 12 pack myself...(I'm also a lush). But this is going to be almost as popular as your vodka. I would also switch from the cans or bottles and just get a keg....you get a 160 beers (in a 12 oz cups) per barrel. It will also cost you about the same price as the beer that you are listing (plus a deposit of $50-70 but you get that back when you return the keg)

Oh my goodness, people! This is like a witch hunt! They *told her* to buy 2 of each, she didn't just arbitrarily come up with this number.

I paid for an open bar (they cut me a deal, but still) but I can guarantee you my venue made too much money off of me. Just little things like people leaving early and the location of the venue, people didn't drink as much as what I paid for. Now some people made up the difference, but not all.

Maybe her crowd is older. Maybe she doesn't hang out with drinkers. Maybe she knows that her friends will be pregaming before they get there and will be shitfaced by dinner time. There are a lot of factors that go into how much people drink.

@FutureMrsKing -- look into one of those wholesalers that allow you to return unopened bottles and get your money back. I had a colleague who did that once.

We are spending $200 for the bartender, and $600 for wine and beer for 150 people. Our cenue doesnt allow anything other than wine or beer.

FMK...this is what I used to do and spent 10 years doing bartending and managing and running private events like weddings, so I KNOW my numbers when it comes to alcohol consumption and forecasting...seriously, I know my shit. If you have question message me...but I really think that either your bartender low-balled your estimate or he didn't understand your numbers.

FMK, my dad and stepmom do NOT drink. My dad was hammered at my wedding.

Shelby, where in this thread have people been witch-hunty about the alcohol?

Snarky, not the alcohol. Everyone is being helpful about the alcohol and telling her to reconsider and speak to her bartender again. Just because it's something she doesn't want to hear doesn't make it a witch hunt.

    Thank you, Snarky.

She should get more alcohol but she's going to do what she's going to do, hence not asking for an opinion on it lol

I will just nicely say that you will probably need more alcohol. You probably do know your guests, but as one user said, people usually drink more at weddings. I would maybe get a second opinion on the proposed cost in your area? Anyways, good luck!

    I'm listening , I'm listening !

Guys I just really know my crowd and know what they drink. Even if I get a extra bottle of each liquor I'm still under the $350 budget. I forgot to mention my mom is purchasing some wine/moscato from Sam's so I didn't budget that. I'm not sure what size of kind she will purchase yet. I'm positive it will be the one in the blue bottle that's everyone fav.

"The only person who should be personally invested in this wedding is her."

Let me ask you something, Shelby. Did you come here to get advice and support for your wedding or to shamelessly brag about how you give expensive gifts to people you don't know well and tell them it's not big deal because you make so much damn money when they thank you?

No one is personally invested in her wedding. But people who have already planned and/or paid for weddings know the ropes and have insight into mistakes. It's fair to assume that whether or not someone asks for an opinion on something that could potentially affect her wedding, people will speak up about it.

I gotta give it to FMK at least she hasn't hidden her post. I know my grammar is atrocious at times. In grade 4, I wasn't allowed on a ski outing because I didn't do my grammar homework. From then I knew grammar and I aren't friends. Somehow I ended up in AP english though....

Mrs. King, It's definitely best to go for a little more alcohol than that. Hell, between myself, husband, brother in law, and sister in law we can kill a handle of whisky lol.
