Venue change insert for invites **Pics included**

Kiera, on February 21, 2013 at 10:43 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 23

As some of you may remember we were forced to change venues due to financial reasons after our invites were already made. The invites are hand made by my mom so I couldn't ask her to make new ones after all the time put into them so we decided on an insert. We were going to be putting an insert in the envelope directing people to our wedding website anyways so we're incorporating the venue change into it.

How does this sound for the wording? If you have any suggested wording changes please feel free to let me know Smiley smile

We have changed the venue to fit

the vision of our wedding more closely.

Please visit our wedding website for

the information on the new venue

and much more.

Attached are pictures of the invites and the cards to be used for the extra insert piece.

I just noticed the cards I was going to use are about an 1.5"-2" taller than the invites themselves...I do have more card stock to be able to make new insert cards, should I? I don't want the insert to overwhelm the invite itself...I will also be adding the same butterfly stamp to the insert as there is on the invite.

I would be more straight to the point. Don't make your guest go hunting for the new venue. Those are BEAUTIFUL invites!!!! She did a wonderful job.

****UPDATE**** (big and bold on purpose)

    Due to unforeseen circumstances,

the wedding celebration has been moved to

The Venue Name ~ 123 Street Road ~ City

Can we see them next to each other? Will it even fit in the envelope as is?

They do fit in the envelope, that's not the issue...I just don't want the size of the insert to overwhelm the invites.

Yes, I would cut them in half, they are supposed to be supplemental to the invite not, as you said, take them over. I would just cut them in half and then maybe turn then sideways and ahve the design on the top or bottom.

That's what I was thinking...thanks! I have all the extra card stock from cutting these ones...I might go ahead and just make new ones, these ones didn't take long to cut/punch the design..

Here is the size option for the smaller insert cards...thoughts? still too big?? I want to stamp the butterfly on the insert to match up to the invites. This size option has not been glued yet so I can adjust it down a bit.

Hayley- Do you think the new size option would work or is it still too big?? it can be cut down more if needed, and I don't HAVE to stamp the butterfly onto it...I can just my punch instead Smiley winking

Also, when putting them all in the envelopes should I place the insert inside the tissue paper with the invites so they aren't missed??

How about you do a paper test run.

Type up the info and print it in the font and the size you plan to use.... cut to size and compare to your new size option.

Then you will know how much room you need for the words and if your want to use the stamp or not.

Yes, I would layer them inside the tissue. It would be horrible if someone shows up to your other location.

Yea, it should def be smaller than the invite. And yes, put it with the invites so they are not missed. It should be more direct too- dont rely on directing them to your website bc not everyone looks at them.

Ok here's the size I got the insert down to. No butterfly but that's ok! Does the size look ok now? (I did a paper print out and can fit the important info on this (the paper will fit with a small amount of light purple border showing Smiley smile)

Those are gorgeous, but I would straight up tell people what the name is of the new venue, rather than making them go to your website. They're you're guests. They shouldn't have to do the extra steps involved (older guests especially).
